18/19 Domestic Cup Double?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

With the good feeling that is surrounding the club and with momentum seemingly running with us rather than against.

Who thinks the team below is good enough to win a domestic cup double this season?

WARD

GOMEZ
MATIP
KLAVAN
MORENO

LALLANA
MILNER ©
GRUJIC

SHAQIRI
STURRIDGE
WOODBURN

——————-

SUBS:
ALLAN
BREWSTER
CHIRIVELLA
INGS
KARIUS
KENT
OJO
ORIGI
RANDALL
SOLANKE

IMO - this team would give most teams in the PL a run for their money on a one-off performance in a cup competition. It may get unhinged against a quality Championship side or any other top lower league team - based on mentality and attitude.

I think Ward, Grujic, Allan, Chirivella, Ings, Kent, Ojo, Origi, Randall, and maybe Woodburn will be playing elsewhere next season. We should still have a pretty strong second string. Maybe something like the below. Probably need to find a space for Milner too.

                   Karius

Clyne     Matip     Klavan     Moreno

                Henderson
      Lallana          Wijnaldum

          Shaqiri     Sturridge

                 Solanke

YEP!

I forgot about Clyne, Wijnaldum   who'll be rotated regulars on the bench like Shaqiri, Matip, Lallana, Moreno Milner, Henderson... the list goes on.
The others (Karius not included) have a massive chance to fight for regular first team action this season.

JH recently exposed the weakness in our squad towards the end of last season, which FSG are beginning to put right.
