He was red carded for a push which was fully deserved on Neymar - sent the little worm flying after Neymar kicked a ball straight at a Columbia player then went for a headbutt against another

:Oo:

You call running up and slamming someone in the middle of the back whilst their back is turned on you as quality ?  Really ?

I have no idea how it ended up being "quality" because that's not what ones looking to say and will edit the post -

Marca saying we've bid 15.7mil for Illaremendi. More like it. Upgrade on any of our midfielders.

I'd offload Allen, take this lad and that's CM sorted.

Ah, but that will never happen because BR loves Joe Allen. He may offload Lucas though.

James Pearce - #LFC have turned their attentions to South American duo Carlos Bacca & Salomon Rondon as alternatives to Christian Benteke.

Yep, unfortunately signing illaremendi would probably mean the end of any possible deal for Kovacic though mate.
Instead of faffing around with the likes of Milner and Henderson we should have been looking to sign them both, now that would have been a midfield worthy of a club of our stature. Probably could have got the both of them for around the figure we are getting for Sterling as well, that's the infuriating thing.

Illaremendi would be a very good signing. He reminds me of Alonso the way he plays and that's the player we've missed massively in midfield since he left. Hopefully we steal Firmino from the mancs to replace Sterling, then I feel we just need a proven striker (mobile, not a target man) and I'd be very happy with the transfers.

Does feel a bit like we're making the same mistake as last summer. Bringing too many players in instead of a few quality players. We've signed 4 and not 1 will make a significant difference imo.

Something like Begovic, Illaremendi, Kovacic and Bacca would have strengthened our weakest areas with proper quality.

Now we've already got 4 players to integrate without sorting our problem positions or reinvesting any money we'll get from selling the brat.

Me too to be honest. I was impressed with Origi in the world cup and I was so happy we pipped spurs to his signature. Without even watching him play this season in the french league I'm now so underwhelmed.. that is the power of the media I'm afraid. Hope he proves he was worth the gamble.

Whats amazing is our squad is so unbalanced that we brought in 7-8 players last year - fail -  and here we go again with 4 already and most likely 3 more to come is 7 again. Zero consistency, @half the squad is new in the last 12 months. Strange strategic planning......

Why would you expect things to be any different Reg?

Same owners. Same manager. Same transfer committee. Same stupid moneyball strategy. Same idiotic youth policy.  :no

Agree, but not just that, young lads who now want to come to Liverpool. This Gomez lad rejected the likes of Dortmund, Manchester City and Arsenal to join Liverpool and according to the Echo 'arrives with a burgeoning reputation after an impressive season for Charlton in the Championship.' Well yippy-yi-ay.  If he went to City or Arsenal he'd never get a game. At LFC he'll play every week in the shop window then in  2-3 years demand a move and cash in. Same with Ings etc.. LFC has become a massive shop window... tomorrow's talent gets to play today then move on. Worrying, fecking worrying.
