With Gerrard gone (and Sterling already having one foot out of the door) surely to Christ the club have to address the lack of creativity in the side? We didn't have much to begin with anyway and now with those 2 going the situation is becoming critical. I just hope Brendan and this transfer committee know what they are doing.

That's the thing Yakka, they don't know what they are doing. Because of the money spent by BR last summer (he went for quantity over quality as we all know. LFC only needed 2 or 3 quality with that money but we all know what happened), there is nothing left. It is still a 'sell to buy policy' at LFC because of it.

From what i've heard, Kovacic fee has been agreed, but nothing else has been finalised. BR seems to be collecting Midfielders. Anyway, Lucas is 'likely' to go as a result as BR does not rate him.

Kovacic is a bright player - bags of ability but will take time to settle

There are a number of young strikers around Europe that would be very good buys without the need to spend £30plus mil

Kovacic is a good player but I think some of you are overrating him a bit. But, like I said, he's a good player and the fee seems about right I guess, so he'd be a good signing.

Hopefully it won't be Lucas who leaves the club and it's going to be Allen instead. But since BR is probably Allen's adoptive father, that's unlikely to happen.

What puzzles me about the Benteke link is that we have seen that target men CF's aren't really a great fit for our system. Carroll and Lambert are both good players in their own right but they struggled to fit in here.
A mobile skillfull forward like Suarez on the other hand not only fitted in perfectly but also became a Kevin Keegan type catalyst who lifted everyone else's game around him.
I know players like Luis Suarez don't grow on tree's but surely that type of mobile skillfull player should be the profile that we are after. In fact we nearly won the title so it's obvious that is the way forward.
Benteke is a decent player who knows where the net is but I just don't see him fitting in here, not unless we have a dramatic change of style anyway.

He has bags of but at £32 mil there are a lot more suited players around

For that sort of money you could look towards players like Dzeko or Augyemng or Jackson

Even look towards youngsters like Fisher

Good player Aubameyang, however he wants a CL club and would prefer a move to Italy by the sounds of it. Dzeko another who knows where the net is but relies on service and not the most mobile of strikers around.

Benteke's pass completion ratio is particularly poor though, yes he's a handful and yes he gets on the end of things but his build up play leaves a lot to be desired.

True but you only have to look at him to see he isn't the best on the deck, Carroll had more ability than him (granted Benteke is more mobile)
