I dont think its possible that one of the richest club in the world would be willing to sell of their best player " Thiago Silva" , what a player and leader on pitch .
Would really love to read the paper that we have signed Sanchez and DiMaria , that and in a season or 2 , players of Silvas caliber would be interested in joining us .

Liverpool are interested in Seattle Sounders star DeAndre Yedlin and could invite the young full-back on trial during pre-season.

The 20-year-old is rated as one of the best young players in America - and he added to his reputation during the World Cup in Brazil, picking up an assist against Portugal and impressing versus Belgium.

Reds scouts were already aware of Yedlin's abilities having followed him since the U20 World Cup in Turkey and they are now looking into a deal for the player.

According to reports in America, Liverpool want the player to join them on trial over the summer with a view to a permanent deal later in the transfer window.

Liverpool are looking to add to their defensive options and with Yedlin able to play right-back, left-back or as a winger, he would offer real versatility to the squad.

Liverpool have seen a bid rejected for Southampton centre-back Dejan Lovren, albeit for a fee Press Association Sport understands to be much lower than the reported £20m.

Having already acquired Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, the Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is now keen to bring yet another Saints player to Anfield, but the club have so far seen interest in the Croatia international Lovren rebuffed.

The 24-year-old joined Southampton from Lyon last summer in an £8.5m deal but is keen to leave and reportedly willing to go on strike to force through a move one season into a four-year deal.

It has been widely reported that Liverpool have seen a £20m bid for the defender rejected, but PA Sport believes their offer was far lower than that.

Lovren is in the midst of an extended break after competing for Croatia at the World Cup and, while Saints may have already lost key players to the Reds, they are in a strong negotiating position after raking in nearly £60m already this summer.

That money is to be reinvested in the squad by the recently-appointed manager Ronald Koeman.

Actually I noticed this fella the other night when I was watching the yanks play Belgium, every time Hazard got the ball could he f**k get past this lad. He was lightening quick. I'd rather sign this lad than Bertrand.

Liverpool are set to make one final attempt to try and lure Alexis Sanchez by offering him a massive £150,000-a-week to move to Anfield.

The Barcelona winger remains a key target for Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.

However, Arsenal are in the driving seat for his signature, with the winger preferring a switch to London, but Liverpool aren't giving up easily.

According to Catalan newspaper AS, Liverpool could offer Sanchez a giant contract worth £150,000-a-week if he changed his mind and wanted to move to the Merseyside club.

Sanchez is currently on about £75,000-a-week at Barca, and while Arsenal have privately promised to go up to £135,000-a-week for the Chilean, they wouldn't beat Liverpool's offer.

Great let's sign another Merc !

So the story is ..........He'd prefer Arsenal over Liverpool BUT for an extra bit of wedge he might move to us .

For ***** sake  :veryangry

What happens when after a decent season with us somebody else offers him a bit more money ?

Honestly got severe reservations about us signing any South American players.

With one or two exceptions they are never ever really going to settle in the north of England for more than a couple of seasons. As soon as any interest is shown from a team based in sunnier climes, particularly if the default language is Spanish, they'll be salivating for a move.

FK them all off is what I say !

he's either good enough or he's not and why the fook are we even sniffing around players like this in the first place  :suspect:
pure moneyball rubbish, a couple of old experienced lads thrown in with a few prospects and then some random picks right out of the park

Liverpool are in hot pursuit of Mexico left-back Miguel Layun, according to Mexican newspaper Fichajes.

The 26-year old - who currently plays his football at Club America - has been another player who has shone on the World Cup stage following a string of impressive performances for Mexico in Brazil.

Layun would suit manager Brendan Rodgers' style as he has shown himself to be a marauding defender who loves to get forward.

That would be in keeping with the Reds free-flowing football of last season, which earned them many plaudits on their way to a second-placed finish.

However, they may have to fight off interest from Inter Milan, although the player himself is understood to prefer a move to the Premier League.

Former Switzerland international Ramon Vega has told GiveMeSport that his fellow compatriot Xherdan Shaqiri would be a great addition to Liverpool this summer.

The Reds, who have been heavily linked with a £15m move for Shaqiri this summer, have been interested in the Swiss ace since the end of last season, as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his already-potent attacking force.

The 22-year-old Bayern Munich star recently admitted that he may have to look elsewhere to get more playing time, with the Premier League among potential destinations. However, the German champions have offered Shaqiri a new deal for him to stay at the Allianz Arena.

Even with this, the playmaker is still contemplating his future, with a transfer to Anfield a possible outcome.

Former Spurs and Switzerland defender Vega believes it would be a great choice.

He told GiveMeSport: "He's already at a great team in Bayern Munich, and you can't forget that. But, there is no doubt he would be a great addition to the Premier League if a club like Liverpool manage to sign him.

"They are a top club, and he he has a great attitude to succeed whenever he plays."

Vega also believe Shaqiri can become one of the best players in the world very soon and has proven this with his exceptional performances at the World Cup, before Switzerland were consequently knocked out by Argentina last tuesday.

The 43-year-old retired footballer continued by addressing that although he has attracted great interest by top clubs, it would effectively mean that his price-tag will dramatically soar.

He added: "After his performances at the World Cup though, his price tag is going to have increased.

"He's shown he can play at the very highest level against the world's best players, and that is what clubs want in a player."

Shaqiri has poetically been given the nickname 'the Alpine Messi', because of his unpredictable nature on the ball, as well as being adept with both feet and clinical in front goal.

Dare I say it but South Amercians usually cause a fuss and do what they want as and when. There's a few instances in the history of the league that suggest this, Tevez and Masch being the two obvious ones. Trouble is they used to struggle in this league, they seem hot property at the moment so they've got more room to make demands.

Over on RAWK there are reports coming out of Spain that we have failed in our efforts to convince Alexi Sanchez to sign for us and apparently a lot of journo's and ITK's connected with Arsenal are saying that Sanchez is going to sign for them within the next couple of days for a fee of €30m ( that's Euro's not pounds).

Honestly don't know why some of us are getting our knickers in a twist over this fella.

He's got the skills BUT all the reports (rumours ?) suggest he's got fk all interest in joining us.

Normally I would hope that if we'd shown some interest in a player they'd at least show some pleasure in being linked with us, even if they didn't want to come to Anfield.

Fair play to Sanchez, 1 he's declared he doesn't want to move, 2 he's said if it had to move (to the prem) Arsenal would be his choice.

At least he's being open about what he wants, AND IT'S NOT US !

FFS, lets wipe away idea's of bringing this fella in and get some one who wants to be here !

Liverpool are reportedly hot on the trail of Mexico left-back Miguel Layun after a string of impressive displays at the World Cup.

The Mexican newspaper Fichajes claims Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on the 26-year-old as his marauding style of play down the flank would fit in perfectly with the Northern Irishman's approach at Anfield.

Rogers is known to be in the market for a new full-back as he looks to improve on last season's near-miss in the Premier League title race, and Layun may just be the player he is looking for.

Liverpool will have to move fast though if they want to push through a deal for the Club America star as a host of other top clubs are also showing an interest in Layun's talents including Serie A outfit Inter Milan.

One factor which does appear to be in the Reds' favour is the player's apparent desire to test himself in the Premier League.
