The agent of Mexico international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has had contact with a number of clubs - but says he is yet to receive any concrete offers.

The keeper - who starred for El Tri during the World Cup before they were beaten by Netherlands in the second round - is available on a free transfer this summer after the expiration of his Ajaccio contract.

Liverpool are reportedly one side interested in the 28-year-old, as they seek competition for Simon Mignolet.

And Jorge Berlanga, the keeper's agent, says that there is interest from "many clubs" in Ochoa.

He told Spanish daily AS: "Many clubs are interested in my client but we still have not received any concrete offers.

"Now it is normal that many clubs will be interested in him after he played so well at the World Cup."

Both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the stopper as well, while a move to the Bundesliga has also been mooted.

Swansea say they want £45million for Wilfried Bony, Michel Vorm and Ben Davies who have attracted interest from Tottenham and Liverpool.

Tottenham have opened talks over Davies but Swansea value him at £12m.

Striker Bony is now rated at £25m and Vorm around £8m.Vorm is currently still at the World Cup with Holland, where he is backup to first-choice Jasper Cilllesen.

Bony, however, has already returned home after his two goals in three games could not prevent Ivory Coast's unfortunate group stage exit.

Davies, meanwhile, has been enjoying his summer off after Wales' failure to qualify.

Desperate to go one better than their Premier League runners-up spot next season, Liverpool have been one of the most active top flight sides in the transfer window this summer.

Southampton duo Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert have both traded St Mary's for Anfield, with the club also agreeing deals for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can and young Belgium striker Divock Origi.

But that hasn't stopped further speculation from brewing, with 'Swiss Messi' Xherdan Shaqiri strongly linked with a move to Merseyside following a dazzling World Cup campaign.

Netting a fine hat-trick against Honduras to send Switzerland in the last 16, the 22-year-old mustered another lively display against final-favourites Argentina, but was powerless to prevent the South American's sealing an extra-time win.

But the Swiss' exit only seems to have fuelled the rumours of his anticipated Anfield switch, with fans keen to see the forward in the red shirt next term.

Liverpool are ready to battle Arsenal for the signature of Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Huntelaar and there has been some suggestion that the Gunners could act to try and snare the player this summer.

Liverpool, meanwhile, considered Huntelaar as an option when Andy Carroll departed for West Ham but the player wanted to stay at Schalke.

However, Huntelaar's contract is now entering its final year and he is yet to agree terms on a new deal. While Schalke general manager Horst Heldt is keen to keep all his star players this summer - including Huntelaar - he is aware that he could lose the 30-year-old for nothing in a year's time.

And that could mean that Arsenal and Liverpool could become embroiled in a bidding war to land the player before he puts pen to paper on a new contract in Germany.

What if Sanchez refuses to come to us? What do we do then? Everything I've read indicates Arsenal, I know he's a footballler so that can quickly change but it's something I've been thinking about. Who can we realistically get in to replace Suarez and instead of Sanchez?

and please nobody say Balotelli

Liverpool are giving serious consideration to making a move for Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand as Brendan Rodgers attempts to fill the club's left-back position.

Bertrand is ready to leave Stamford Bridge this summer in search of regular first-team football after nine years with the club.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is a long-term admirer of Bertrand after working with him previously at the Chelsea academy and the 24-year-old has emerged as a serious alternative to Sevilla's Alberto Moreno.

The Spanish left-back was one Rodgers' principal targets at the beginning of the summer but Liverpool are reluctant to meet Sevilla's asking price, after the La Liga side demanded a deal in excess of £20million for the 21-year-old defender.

Bertrand would be rather more affordable at around £8m and the player is understood to be keen on a move to a club playing Champions League football.

Rodgers will also step up his pursuit of Southampton's Croatian defender Dejan Lovren, with a £15m bid expected to be lodged in the coming weeks.

The agent of Liverpool target Marcos Rojo believes it is not a surprise to see so much interest in the coveted Argentina international, who is also being trailed by a string of Italian and Spanish clubs.

Liverpool, along with Barcelona, Juventus, Napoli and Roma, are in pursuit of the Sporting Lisbon man, who can play at centre-back and at left-back. talkSPORT told you on Tuesday that West Ham are also monitoring the 24-year-old.

He is currently starring for his country at the World Cup and has been tipped to move on from the Portugal in the summer when he heads home from Brazil.

Rojo's representative, Carlos Goncalves, is unsure if he will stay at Sporting and has expressed his admiration for Serie A.

He told Radio CRC: "Marcos is a talented player so it is normal that the big clubs might be interested in him.

"The Italian league is one of the most important in the world, but at this moment Rojo is a player of Sporting Lisbon and we will see if he will remain in Portugal.

"I cannot say whether Napoli followed him during the season. Napoli are a good team, we cannot deny it, but Rojo is contracted to Sporting."

Liverpool have been told that they can sign Benfica defender Maxi Pereira for just £5.5m this summer.

The Anfield club have been strongly linked with a move for Pereira in recent days.

Pereira has just one year remaining on his contract and has stalled over signing new terms at the Stadium of Light.

Under those circumstances Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira believes that £5.5m is a fair price for the 30-year-old.

Earlier this week Pereira cast doubt over his future at Benfica, saying: "I do not know if I will continue."

Fabio Borini looks set to stay at Liverpool despite interest from Sunderland, according to his agent.

The Italian striker spent the season on loan at the Stadium of Light and played a major role in their survival push.

Sunderland want to sign the 23-year-old permanently but Borini’s agent says the former Roma forward is returning to the Reds.

“Fabio goes back to Liverpool to stay there, as stated by the manager Rodgers a few weeks ago,” Marco De Marchi is reported to have said.

“So far, Liverpool have not received any communication regarding his transfer.

“I would not be surprised if there were other clubs who want him, because I consider him a complete striker.

“But for the moment, all I can say with certainty is that Fabio has returned to Liverpool to stay.”

Adriano has expressed a desire to remain at Barcelona but says he will not know if he is wanted until he speaks to new coach Luis Enrique.

The Brazilian utility player still has three years left on his current deal at the Nou Camp but has been tipped to leave this summer as part of a squad rebuilding plan.

In recent weeks rumours have persisted that he could be sold and both Liverpool and Roma have been credited with an interest.

"At the moment I am staying, but I know that there is interest from other clubs," he told Sport.

"I do have a contract until 2017 and until the president tells me something different I will continue.

"I am only thinking about Barca and really would like to stay. I want to talk to the coach and clear things up.

"Lately, there have been a lot of rumours that are not based on anything and I want to start pre-season focused without rumours of whether I am going or staying.

"I do not know what I will do, but if I stay then I will show I am capable of playing more than people think."

Enrique has yet to hold his first training session as Barca boss, but Adriano is confident that the new man will do things the right way.

"Luis Enrique knows that club, he has been close to Guardiola, but he has his own philosophy," he continued.

"He likes good football and brings the best out in his players and that is good, like it should be.

"Now he is the boss and we are all behind him."

Personally I want to see us linked with players of the calibre of Markovic, Alexi Sanchez etc.
It's hard to get too excited about the likes of Stewart, Bertrand, Origi etc because let's face it those types of transfers never seem to work out for us.
Just how many Borini's, Aspas's, Assaidi's, Alberto's etc are we going to have to buy before the penny finally drops at Anfield that you get exactly what you pay for?
As for this transfer committee I think a committee made up of newkit forum members would have more of a success rate than this mob.

Regarding Markovic, James Pearce of Liverpool Echo has said this afternoon that us signing Lallana will have no impact on us going for Markovic and BR seems him as an important part to the jigsaw

Cheers CR, I'll only believe it when I see Markovic holding up one of our shirts at a press conference though!
All the same it's nice to hear that he's still on our radar.
