Liverpool and West Ham will need to battle it out with a host of European clubs if they wish to sign Colombia defender Eder Balanta, Express reports.
The Colombian centre-back is believed to be football's next rising star and could be on his way to Europe after a string of solid performances for at the World Cup.
Currently playing in the Argentine Premier League with River Plate, the 21-year-old is worth about £6 million as both the Reds and Hammers are targeting him for a switch.
The Premier League pair were thought to be the only sides chasing the player, but could now be joined by Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina, Barcelona, and Galatasaray.
Vice-president Matias Patanian told Radio La Red: "For the moment we only know, in an official way, that Juventus are making a big effort for Balanta.
"We have heard what an English newspaper is saying about West Ham.
"If the amount of money that the newspaper mentions is true and we receive an offer like that, then River could sit down and stat negotiations as it would be close to the amount the club expects for transferring Balanta.
"If the money that is being mentioned in the English media is that, then we will have to listen to them when we receive an official offer.
"Of course we would want to sell our players to the team that gets closest to our value."
