Spanish paper El Confidencial reports Ancelotti has persuaded Real Madrid execs to keep faith in Benzema and drop plans to sign Luis Suárez.

However the same paper is reporting Barcelona are interested in a deal for Suarez and will use Alexis Sanchez as a make weight in the deal.

Finally linked with a right back.....

Arsenal face further competition in the race to sign Serge Aurier with Premier League rivals Swansea and QPR interested in the Toulouse right-back.

According to reports, Brendan Rodgers was looking to capitalise on Arsene Wenger's lack of movement in the transfer market by swooping for Aurier with a £7m bid.

Aurier's agent Stephane Courbis claimed at the start of June another Premier League club were in for the 21-year-old.

"There is no agreement with Arsenal," Courbis said.

"We've talked in past but there has been nothing recently. We're in talks with another English side."

However, L'Equipe claim that Swansea and newly-promoted QPR are also eyeing a move for the Ivorian.

Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba recently praised Aurier who has impressed at the World Cup.

"Serge brought us energy and balance and he had a fantastic game," Drogba told Fifa.com.

"He's the best right-back in all of France.

"I think he'll do well at the next level too, in the Premier League."

You're sayin it like Valencia is a bad player? ???

The fact he didn't play often enough was a contributing factor in uniteds spectacular decline last season. Hes a quality player.

Valencia is average. Easily the most one footed player in the league, to the point of ridiculousness - I.e. going round in circles instead of using his left.

Even United fans don't rate him.

Do you seriously not realise how important it is to improve the first team? I dont understand how you think we can move forward without doing this....

I don't know why you bother arguing with me when you don't even read my posts. I said a 100 times that I think that we don't need another LB, and strongly supported the argument that we need a new RB instead. But it's not up to me or you, it's up to Rodgers. He's calling the shots and he thinks that we need a LB, so we can only hope that we will at least sign a good one, and Moreno is pretty good.

Valencia is average? ??? You have to be joking?

I haven't met one united fan who doesn't rate him. I have however met hundreds who fumed with Gollum ever time he didn't play one of their best players. Out of the united fans I know who are season ticket holders, the common opinion is he's quality but just lacks goal threat.

To call him average and praise the likes of skrtel and Lucas is quite odd. I have to wonder whether you watch the same game sometimes or whether its just simply down the fact you are such an avid Liverpool fan you cant accept other teams have players that are better than some of ours.

on a serious note, Valencia wouldnt be more than a squad player here, no way as he got whats needed to turn any of our starting players out of their position.

Real Madrid are willing to part with Angel Di Maria, Sami Khedira and Fabio Coentrao this summer offering hope to Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti is happy to let the trio leave if the club receive sizeable offers.

Arsenal and Manchester United have earmarked Di Maria as the summer blockbuster signing to excite fans.

Previous reports indicated that £40m could tempt Real to sell the Argentine while the player has admitted that numerous clubs are interested in him.

He said: "I am not going to lie, I know that there are clubs that want to sign me and can match Real Madrid's demands

"But that's up to my representatives and the club. I will stay if the club wants me to stay.

"I am not thinking about my future now. We will see what Madrid have in mind, whether they want me to stay or leave."

Khedira is attracting interest from Liverpool and United and a bid of £20m could secure the German's signature.

Khedira missed five months of last season due to a knee injury although he has been a crucial part of Germany's World Cup squad.

Some interesting names we've been linked with. Some excellent players but perhaps not in positions we need improving. That said, if someone like Sanchez (who imo is one of the top attacking players in the world) is available then we should be in for them. Priority is still a RB and a CB but if we are spending 20+ mill on a midfielder (Lallana?) then we might as well go for a Sanchez/Pedro
