Biscan to start - Oh no . . . . . .

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Cisse2bking » Wed Nov 03, 2004 8:14 pm

With what will be a very important game ahead of us tonight, i am watching sky sports looking forward to the game and our team giving it all to get a result and i have just seen that Biscan is to start!

Now i know Alonso has a small injury and is on the bench but Biscan - i am sure we could have come up with a better replacement

Even if Garcia was to drop back into midfield, let Kewell play off baros and put Warnock on the left at least we would have some kind of balance.

Am i being unfair ????

yeah here is the quote from espn soccernet, "Bad news on the injury front for Liverpool (in addition to the Cisse and Gerrard problems): Xabi Alonso failed a late fitness test, Harry Kewell passed his; he will perform the second striker role, we are led to beleive. That means Liverpool's midfield is made up of Luis Garcia - possibly in a free role - Dietmar Hamann, Djimi Traore (gulp) and (oh dear, oh dear) Igor Biscan. Alonso was deemed fit enough for the bench, which also includes Steve Finnan and Florent Sinama-Pongolle. Fingers cross" followed by.... "As the teams line up I am forced to sit corrected. Traore, of course, will play left-back whilst Riise is on the left of midfield. Not such a worry anymore then, eh?"

Biscan is playing his best game in the red shirt tonight. A few good direct run...tough game but we are 1-0 up so far...should have been more

Biscan, Traore and even........  Harry Kewell playing very well indeed :)

Baros tends to really frustrate me at times with his single mindedness, couple of times tonight he has had Riise free.

Garcia seems a little lightweight tonight also, BUT we are winning, so not grumbling  :D
