Lallana for anything near 20 M is a waste of money . Doesn't even play the full 90 minutes. Another transfer howler from Rodgers

lallana isnt a bad player at all but we can do much much better for the fee being touted. he isnt worth the colour of that and all we will do is place massive expectation on his shoulders that im not so sure he can deal with.
there doesnt seem to be any other parties interested so im miffed as to why we opened the bidding at 20+ million.

For a team which spend 18 and 24 on Hendo and Allen ,20+ is more then a reasonable price. The lad is class with the ball and has good work ethics; His vision of the pitch superb and he looks mentally tough as well ,would be a great piece of Biz.

However, I cant see it happening. The lad is pure class though.

I heard the total value was £20m + assaidi... Which wouldn't be bad for us or assaidi

Fabergas is an overrated player ,wouldn't bother going for him. He is Mentally soft and while has good skills has a problem breaking his glass ceiling. I would like to see a leader in the MF ,Sesk isn't one.

Are you people for real? Fabregas flopped at Barca and is an overrated player?  ... we would be lucky to have fabregas join us... just how many assists do you think Fabregas has been dishing out every season?

Why are Barcelona prepared to sell him then? With the likes of Xavi getting near the end of his career you'd think they'd want to keep him. They obviously don't think he's as good as you do.

Are we even having this discussion?
Fabregas is absolute top class.
10 years at the absolute top of world football, cl proven and Pl proven. And still rather young.
Just as old as Lallana with the difference that Lallana has 0 years experience at the very top of world football/cl etc.
Did everyone miss what he did at Arsenal and what happened to them after he left?

So what if he hasn't taken the spotlight at Barca?
They have become stagnant cause they really never let him play consistantly where he wants.
Always Xavi, Busqets, Inesta game after game after game.

He would be a top class acquisition but either:

a) Barce won't sell or
b) 5-10 other top clubs would outbid us

Absolutely incredible that there are people on here doubting the quality of fabregas!

I remember watching him at 18 pass alonso and Gerrard off the pitch. The lad is a class footballer. I cant quite believe some of the comments coming out recently about some players.

I like lallana, I'd take him all day and be happy as he is quality... But if it came down to him or cesc there is only one winner and I can tell you now it wouldn't be the Englishman.

Find it really odd that people are even debating this. Is cesc is available then he's the one to go for, not lallana.

Regarding Adam Lallana, Southampton posted the following statement on their official site when they announced the Lambert deal

Southampton Football Club can confirm that we have received multiple offers for some of our players in the past weeks. This is a confirmation of the depth of the development that is ongoing in our academy and of the present standing of our first team within the Premier League.

We are staying true to our plan and vision and, as a result, we have no need to accept any offers. We are deep in the process of appointing a new manager who will continue to move our club forward. It remains our preference not to partake in any transfers until the new manager is in place. Our scouting & recruitment department continues to monitor targets we have identified to improve our squad, and the new manager will have final input into our recruitment process.

http://www.marca.com/2014/06/02/futbol/ ... 99572.html

Basically translated as:
''It's almost everything agreed in the transfer of Alberto Moreno at Liverpool. As anticipated MARCA.com, supply has risen to not include the transfer of Suso and will be around 22 million euros and also very juicy will vary according to the objectives achieved, both the player and the team 'red' .
The deal could become official in the next hours because all parties are waiting for that small fringe materialize to formally announce it. The agreement, equally, the player with the English team is full so that there are no obstacles to the sale occurs''

Probably get flamed for this, but with Ballotelli being offered to Arsenal, Milan are keen to get rid and I am not sure how many clubs would be interested in him. At 23 he really is still a child and seems to me to be lacking a father figure type coach. Given what Brendan did with Sterling and Suarez (not in the same league behaviour wise I realise) how much of a punt would he be do you think and would/could he bring something to the team that we're currently missing/lacking?

Would love to have Mario @ anfield, could you imagine the mischief he and Suarez could cause  :grinning:

Problem is i cant see us spending 20+ million on a striker unless borini and aspas are offloaded for decent money, think we need to strengthen over areas now
