LA DECIMA

This thread is for anyone whose account was registered 10 years ago or longer.

I joined 22 May 2004 and some of the current members were here already, so there will be a few of us but not many. Obviously the number will grow as time goes on.

3553 posts at a rate of 0.97 per day.  :buttrock  :buttrock  :buttrock

Since I began posting I've got engaged, got married, had three kids, lived in Canada, and got a permanent job.

Honours during my Newkit time:

European Cup 04/05
European Super Cup 05
FA Cup 05/06
Charity shield 06
League Cup

Best moment 25/5/2005 of course where I (the only time ever I think) announced the team in the Final thread http://www.liverpoolfc-newkit.co.uk/post228903.html#p228903. Drummerphil's in that thread on page 34.

There were many great goals - Gerrard against Olympiakos, or against West Ham. Garcia against Juventus. Suarez against Norwich. I loved this one:

The best opening 20 minutes were of course this season, this was football of the very highest quality, it was an honour to watch it:

On 22nd May 2004 the Liverpool echo ran this story:

D-day looms for Houllier:

LIVERPOOL chairman David Moores will return to Anfield on Monday to face one of the most agonising weeks of his reign.

Moores has been on a family break in Scotland while the media frenzy regarding Gerard Houllier has reached fever pitch.

A statement regarding Houllier's future is expected early next week.

And after Redrow homes founder Steve Morgan withdrew his #73m revised offer yesterday, Moores must also address the issue of where investment in the club will come from.

Details of negotiations with the Thai government are still to be made public to the supporters, with speculation that it has hit a stumbling block.

Inevitably, most attention continues to focus on the position of Houllier.

Speculation is rife that Charlton's Alan Curbishley and Valencia's Rafael Benitez are the leading candidates for the job should Houllier leave, as has been widely expected.

The Liverpool manager has continued his job at Melwood all week while everyone has predicted he's in his final days at Anfield.

A momentum was generated by the board's lack of public support for the manager in the light of stories predicting his departure.

That situation will be finally resolved at the beginning of the week.

Houllier has shown no intention of quitting in the light of criticism of his record over the past two seasons, but his support on the board has dwindled.

Moores won't be relishing the fateful meeting where Houllier's future is decided.

The chairman's close relationship with his managers is legendary and having stood by Houllier for so long, wielding the axe is not something which will give Moores any pleasure. However, with the situation being allowed to drag into the fourth day without any denial of claims Houllier's fate has been decided, it seems more likely Liverpool will soon be looking for a new manager.

Houllier has been quoted in French publication as saying he is sure he will keep his job at Anfield

"I am 100% sure I will be here next season," he said.

"The directors of the club are aware that the team has qualified three times for the Champions League in the last six years," he said.

"I can't prevent or stop the rumours, but the speculation is a load of rubbish. I am currently having meetings with the chief executive preparing for next season."

Anyone else reached the 10 year mark?

10 years in July

After lurking in shadows for a while at here and the RAWK signed on during that heady off season after Rafaultion started
Decided on this place over RAWK as it seem far more friendlier (How wrong I was :) )

Best moment: How forum crackled during that first season culminating at Istanbul

Worst moment: Loss of fit bird thread (Beginning of the end )

I joined 6th October 2003, been all over the place the last 10 years but the one true constant is LFC. The site has really changed, used to be loads of characters seems a bit of a ghost town these days although this season has stirred up more interest.
