Let's get a bit realistic here. No one will argue that Sturridge is a better player than Suarez or that his decision making couldn't do with some improvement. That said, he has been one of the best player for Liverpool (and in the league for that matter) this season and losing him for ANY game will be a blow imo. This is our record with Sturridge injured:
23 Nov 12:45 12 EVE(A) 3-3 (played 12 mins, scored a goal)
01 Dec 14:05 13 HUL(A) 1-3 (missed through injury)
04 Dec 19:45 14 NOR(H) 5-1 -
07 Dec 15:00 15 WHU(H) 4-1 -
15 Dec 16:00 16 TOT(A) 5-0 -
21 Dec 12:45 17 CAR(H) 3-1 -
26 Dec 17:30 18 MCI(A) 1-2 -
29 Dec 16:00 19 CHE(A) 1-2 -
01 Jan 15:00 20 HUL(H) 2-0 -
12 Jan 16:10 21 STK(A) 5-3 (played 25 mins: scored 1 goal, made 1 assist)
In the 10 games he's missed/played less than 30 mins, we've lost 3 (out of 5 defeats the entire season) and drawn 1 (out of 5 draws this season).
The past 3 games aside, he has scored or assisted in 19 out of 23 appearances (starting or sub) he has made for us this season.
In the 4 appearances mentioned, our record is: 2 wins, 2 defeats.
