ManU have.

At the moment Manu's strikers can't find the back of the net. Their midfield is weak [Both Keane and Giggs are showing their age. Only effective midfielder is Ronaldo]. They have two good midfielders and thats the drug lord and Heinze.

So Rio and Heinze now play in midfield?

This preoccupation with goal scorers coming in misses the point of some of out greatest teams where 75% of the seasons goals came from the rest of the team.
Oh for a Chris Lawler type full back or a John Wark midfielder, Raffa knows whats needed leave it to him.

There are youngsters at the Academy ready to show over the next few years. Raffa shows up there regularly ( unlike Le Pouffe) shakes hands with the kids and actually talks to them - unbelievable after the last few years- and the kids are responding. There have been massive changes there and it may take a while but it will be worth waiting for.

Well i heard a while back that it would take  more than a king's ransom to pry Andy Johnson out of Palace as he signed like a 5 or 6 year deal or something to that extent.  Personally I say we go out and buy beattie, and see what Benitez can do with him.  Soon enough his second touch and his passes should pick up.

It's the first touch that's all important and I've seen enough krap bought over the past few years to last me a life time.
Don't give a frig who we get as long as they've got a good first touch and are easy on the ball.

beattie,

Benitez won't go for Beattie. Beattie has hardly scored this season and he is injured[might be out till January]. If we are going to buy somebody it will most likely be a Spaniard which I have no problem with.

We need Midfielders who are not afraid of scoring goals, or of even going forward and passing the ball forward.

Garcia: 3 Goals
Gerrard: 4 Goals
Riise: 2 Goals
Alonso: 1 Goal

What were you saying about our midfield not scoring?

We need Strikers who know where the goal is and how to put the ball in it.

Baros scored 3 in the Premiership and 4 in other competions which gives a total of 7 him being our main goalscorer.

We score 1.8 goals a game, we are ranked third as far is goal scoring is concerned. [1-Arsenal 2-Newcastle]

And we are?? Sixth, I believe in the table.
Our midfield and defence are only now scoring consistantly. (I class Riise as a defender)
Defence? Goalkeeper? Do my points on them make sense? Again I suggest Cudicini to replace Dudek.
Baros seems to be blossoming, so my criticism of strikers not knowing where the goal is is harsh, I just feel as though our strikers, more often than not, get lost on the way. Unfortunately, the likes of Henry are rare.
Those statistics are very encouraging, and may show that this team and especially Rafa, has what it takes to turn our fortunes round.
Maybe I am living too much in the past?

You believe in the table eh? Man Utd is below us and they are one of the favours to win the Premiership.

Last season we didn't get into the top 4 till the last 3-5 months of the season.

It's nice to see that  you're such an optimistic fan.
