Can you realistically see anyone else in the top 3 but City , Chelsea and Utd ! Really ? Ill quite happily put money on that.

I don't care about net spend - its about the quality in the squad as opposed to the numbers or how well the balance sheet is. There is nothing stopping the owners dipping into their own pockets and buying players to give us the quality to give us a better chance of CL football.

Our squad IMO doesn't have the quality in it to be better than both Arsenal and Spurs over the course of the whole season ( not just the first two games )

Well you've clearly written us off after 2 games, it's going to be a long hard campaign for you this season, especially if we do well :wwww ,........I'm sure you will be the first to moan if we don't get 4th  ....hopefully all the players we signed months ago that you have forgotten about perform well...oh they already have.....theres me thinking BTN had his finger on the pulse ,he's been spouting we waited till the end of the transfer window.....
come on you reds for tomorrow...
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.

Time will tell. Do you know what though, its a bit more fun being happy about a good start. And if we do fall away so be it but lets not worry about things before they happen. Honestly if you have mates who are fellow reds do they watch the match with you ? Because if any of my mates were as negative as you they would get swerved.

Haven't forgotten about them SS - just don't believe they have the quality needed to get us into the top 4.

And if we don't get into the top 4 yes I will be moaning.

But if we do well ill be as delighted as the next person but not sure why it will be a hard campaign for me if we do well ?

What happens at the game is all about supporting the players on the pitch as it happens from the first minute to the minute the last whistle blows.

we finished last season with a very competitive side but we havent really significantly strengthened this summer, the keeper is the only cast iron nailed on starter we`ve brought to the club.
so the question is basically - is last seasons post xmas team good enough to come 4th this year?
i guess we`ll soon find out, the game tomorrow may give us some indication

For me the toure we have now is an improvement on the carra we had last season. Sakho should be better than skrtel and aspas is better than downing

Have you guys actually thought about our starting 11, considering all our players? It isn't really that bad. Do people forget that we have Suarez, a player that can score 20-30 goals in a season? This line-up isn't that bad really:

                                  Mignolet

              Johnson    Toure   Agger   Enrique

                            Gerrard   Lucas

                               Henderson

                 Suarez     Sturridge     Coutinho

Is this really that bad?

We also have 2 almost complete transfers for the CB position. We might be missing a midfielder and an attacking player but then again, who would we bench from this 11? Definitely not Gerrard or Lucas. Maybe Henderson but it's not like he's a bad player. The attack is obviously irreplaceable.

I'm also slightly disappointed because Spurs have been heavily active in this transfer window as oppose to us and have signed a few of our targets like Eriksen. But I am certain that none of their players will have more goals scored than Suarez or Sturridge. They also look very slow and they will take time to gel their completely new team whereas we are one of the best teams in the league when we have the ball. Spending big doesn't necessarily mean success. Liverpool fans especially should be aware of this.

thats what i`m saying, that is basically our post xmas team from last season.
as of now i dont think we`ve significantly strengthened, mingolet has started well but reina`s form at the end of last season was probably his best spell of form for 3 or 4 years plus reina was very good with his feet so to me thats much of a muchness.
toure for carragher? maybe a slight improvement but nothing dramatic.
as i said we finished last season with a very competative side, we scored a lot of goals and some of the footy we played was superb, it`s just a question of wether that side is good enough for this season, it may well be, as i also said, we`ll soon find out.

It is a decent line up which is stronger than this time last year and will certainly challenge Arsenal now (unless they get some signings in )- but I don't think it is good enough to get into 4th. Lacks in three areas - width , pace and strength. Width and pace up front , strength and creativity in the midfield. Gerrard , Lucas and Henderson as a midfield is a weak link. Defending set pieces and crosses at the moment is a weak link. Naturally we rate our players a lot higher but it's mainly only the front three that pose the danger but they need the ball to create. It's not always about spending big - it's about spending right to get the right quality into the team.

Currently I see our squad/team as the 6th best in the league and I think that is where we will finish.

Seen a few twitter rumblings that we are looking at getting Siggurdsson in on loan

Not sure Ben - he has talent and creativity from the middle of the park and played very well for BR at Swansea but turned us down for money last summer.

Think it's possibly a loan deal that could be a better choice.

Are they that stupid or arrogant to give us players? I doubt it.

Any news on Sakho and Ilori? I thought they were having their medicals today.

They will likely be announced by monday. Sigurdsson on loan would be ok by me.
