Torres was an idol and a hero to fans here and he was selfish enough to leave all that behind to join the plastics. Now he's no longer wanted there were suppose to show him sympathy??

Like doeboy says .. hes shot!!

Torres for a fee around 10 m I would go for. We arent going to spend 30M+ on a forward so we will need to be smart with the signings.

Torres is a confidence player. If he is full of confidence he will play well. If he is short of it he wont.

there is no guarantee we will spend 10+ on anyone either.
rafa got the best out of torres and he will not suit our team unless rodgers changes the way he plays. in saying that if its him or nothing then id say sign him up, again
if he did sign at least he could keep steve peters company doing crosswords and sudoku's all day

Why would be interested in Torres? or want him back, it's laughable.

We don't need a central striker - what we need is a centre half and wide player, maybe another attacking midfield player.

Starting to doubt the logic in letting Suso go on loan and selling Downing.
These next few days will define our season, Tottenham even assuming Bale goes are signing quality.
4th looks a distant dream at the moment and with sales we haven't spent a penny.
And the rumours of a Moses loan, dear me that just has desperation written all over it.

I think we could be in for a difficult few days.

I would take Torres for £10M. Mainly for sentimental reasons, I like to think that if he returned he would go out of his way to appease the fans for the way he left. I honestly think he would return to decent form under Rodgers.

Torres has lost that initial burst of pace that used to take him away from defenders - and he hasnt tailored his game to adapt. That's not even talking about how he treated the club. Spending 10mil on Torres would be a waste of money.

I would also much rather have Eriksen though and would be very disappointed if Spurs sign him, especially for the price that is being mentioned.
Yarmolenko is also a very good player though. Skillful and fast, just the sort of winger we need. The price being mentioned for him is the maximum I'd pay for him though. He looks good and his stats are good but he's only played in the Ukrainian league after all.

re Ba and Torres, why would we need any of them? We already have enough CF's with Suarez, Sturridge, Borini and Aspas all able to play there. We need goal scoring wingers or attacking midfielders.

As for the CB targets, it is likely that we'll end up with that lorry guy. I wouldn't be very surprised if we do but I'll be disappointed. The kid is way too unproven and we need someone who can step in and be a starter. We have enough kids anyway.

Good post.

Toure was a freebie out of contract with his club and at one stage didnt cost over £50mil - Kaka has also struggled since his major injury. Kaka is on a lot of money at Madrid - we won't touch him and I'm sure that is the right move. He will prob go back to Milan and play a bit part for them. He isn't the type of player we should be looking at.
