He's also a better player than Baros.

Code: Select all
                   Cisse
Kewell       Luise Garcia        Nunez
         Alonso         Gerrard
Riise   Hyypia       Carragher  Finnan
                 Kirkland

If Nunez is no good then Finnan right midfield and Henchoz at centre half with Carragher playing on the right.

very attacking formation but how can u put Numez there without seeing him in action yet? Finnan doesnt offer much as rite midfield.
Code: Select all
           Baros(Cisse)

  Kewell   S.G    Garcia

      Alonso    Hamann

Risse Hyppia Carrager  Finnan

This formation can easily beat Arsenal  :;):

This is a good question.

Josemi has showed some good attacking ability but he seems to rash in the challange.

Finnan is much improved this season, and has shown both his ability to get foward and defend well. He is more composed than Josemi.

For now I would put Josemi at RB and Finnan at RM and then we'll just have to see when Nunez is back, because it also depends on what sort of player he is.

Josemi and Finnan are neck and neck for me. I have been very impressed with the way Josemi has adapted to English football so seamlessly. He is a tough tackler who looks very comfortable on the ball although he has been caught out a couple of times. Finnan has managed to stay injury free and we are seeing a much more confident player this season.
I'm just happy to see 2 players really competing for a position - It's been a while since we could say that :)

Josemi is a no-nonsense defender. Maybe he got cought out a few times with the pace of English football...but I'll say let him settle before passing judgement. For now, we need a tough defender like him at the back. Good problem to have Finnan and Josemi battling it out for a place.
BTW. what happened to Jon Otsemobor? I though he looked a good potential...?

Its tight at the mo' between Finnan and Josemi. Unusually for me, I thought the signing of Finnan was a sensible one at the right price and I was very disappointed with him last season. He has made strides forward recently though and its very close between the two. If anything, for me Finnan just about shades it.

Finnan for me, cos I have him in my fantasy football team and he is doing well so far!!
Seriously, I think it is great we have competition for places and the players competing, though inexperienced, have class and an ability to improve. Rafa is definitely bringing out the best in the long term players, who knows how Michael Owen would have improved if he had stayed? More fool him for leaving I say. Sold for £8 million? Josemi was a disapointment today and Finnan is not a midfielder.
