He's a f*cking dinosaur Benny, he had 4-5 good seasons with Porto and Lyon but the last time he played good was 2 seasons ago! He's 30 years old and he ain't getting any younger nor better, and he's not that good at the moment either. He'd also ask for big wages. Seriously Benny, you'd mention every player that is active in the transfer market just to say "look how unambitious we are" even though we don't need the player nor the player is good enough.

He is a proven goalscorer 80 plus goals in 4 seasons for Lyon. Again is 30 now considered to be a dinosaur ? You say he has been poor during the last two seasons yet has 40 goals in the last two seasons.

He wouldn't be a replacement for Suarez but players like him - experienced proven players are what squads need. I would take him in the squad ahead of both Borini and Aspas every day of the week and he would have cost less than both of them.

i wouldnt rule aspas out yet benny. i know he is slight but until he has a season under him in the prem we wont know. in his defense he has shown more composure than borini,downing,sterling and even suarez at times in front of goal, so if he can hold his own physically then i think he could be a good lad to have on the pitch.

Reading Rodgers' comments on the offal suggests we won't be signing anyone in the forseeable, looks like its the tools we currently have for Stoke

Yeah heard him say it during the press conference - hopefully it's a bluff.

Am I dreaming or did he say/infer not that long ago words to the effect that after bringing in some players to give the squad some depth he be looking to add some quality ?

We've signed some stocking fillers now where's the quality ?

Does it mean that he was initially expecting to have some cash (maybe from the sale of Suarez) to buy quality and now that cash apparently won't be forthcoming we can forget about signing anyone of real note ?
