I think Titus Bramble could do a job for us ...        sweeping...       the car park after match day.

it wouldnt surprise me if bernard did decide to go to arsenal, out of the 3 english clubs said to be interested in him (us, spurs and arsenal) they are the only ones who can offer CL footy.
not only that they have qualified for the CL for the past 15 or 16 seasons and have been very consistent, over the same period us and spurs are flying high one minute and then in a mini crisis the next.

if the two first team players rodgers was talking about bringing in turn out to be bernard and papadopolous we will be a very competative team next season wether suarez stays or not.
if we bring in bernard and papadopolous and suarez stays i think we`ll get in the top 4, as crazy as it sounds we may even have an outside chance at the title considering the big changes going on behind the scenes at city, chelsea and united.
no matter how many great players those teams have whenever a new manager comes in there is always a transitional period as they get used to his methods.
the fixture list has been kind to us next season and if we get off to a flyer and build up some momentum you never know, after all after christmas we did put together some very impressive performances and results.

It certainly is crazy to talk about title chances on the strength of a player that you have only really seen in You Tube clips ???

err if you look at that team i posted the other 3 in our attack were suarez, coutinho and sturridge and when those 3 linked up after christmas we went on a run that was top 4 form.
we scored a ton of goals and not only did we smash the likes of wigan, fulham and newcastle we were leading at places like arsenal and city.
a dominant CB and an exciting wide forward would make us an even better side not to mention this is rodgers second season and the majority of the team know how he wants to play now.
as i said there`s a lot of change behind the scene`s at chelsea, united and city and in this era of player power anything can happen.
it`s all hypothetical anyway because i dont think suarez will stay and i dont think bernard will sign for us.
we wont start the season with a side as strong as that.

That link certainly been hanging around for a year or so - Skillful player - spends more time on the treatment table than the football pitch

he`s not a bad player but he`s injury prone and there are questions about his motivation.
it looks like we are really struggling to attract the top names, players just see the likes of suarez wanting out and gerrard nearing retirement and probably think to themselves we are a club moving in the wrong direction.

We also lost to teams like West Brom and Southampton in that period with a few draws at home.

The teams above do have new managers but the new manager that have arrived have been backed by big funding and are top quality proven managers - the changes at Chelsea and City will make them stronger - the Mancs will be in and around the top 4 , Spurs have bought quality and Arsenal looking to buy again.

A couple of top quality signings might give us an outside chance of top 4 - 4 top quality signings would have us alongside Arsenal fighting with them and Spurs also possibly the Mancs for spots 3 and 4.

our season last year was warped by having our worst start in over a century, we are not as bad as some people think, even if we just added a CB that can head the ball we`d improve immeasurably.
that west brom game you mentioned isnt a great example, sturridge was injured and shelvey played up front but even so we battered them for 85 mins and even missed a pen before getting hit by a sucker punch. that was the game coutinho made his debut, he came on for the last 12 mins.
infact most of our poor results in that end of season run came when rodgers left one of our new signings on the bench (mostly sturridge)
but to be fair these are the things that new managers need to iron out and by the seasons end i think rodgers had a good idea what his best team and formation was (for example coutinho started out on the wing and finished the season as a AM).
the likes of moyes, mourinho and pellegrini have got all that to come.

The likes of Pellegrini etc start with squads that have won CL or Prem in recent seasons plus will be adding world class players to those squads - it's a massive difference to us last season with BR arriving
