Rumour of the day - For the miserable tw@ts amongst you

Norwich have just signed Van Wolfswinkel and looking towards Alderwield as well

Southampton trying to get Wanyama , Swansea are getting Bony

There is quality out there available for the right price. Spurs aren't on the same financial footy as City yet attract quality. We don't have the means to buy in the volume they did but if we can't afford to buy two quality players at decent fee and wages - then I would ask where our money is going.

Anyway

Toby Alderweirld is reported to be available at around £6mil and Eriksen around £15mil

I'm not Eriksens biggest fan but £21mil for those two is quite possibly a cracking deal - add in a string DM and the first team takes on a stronger picture. It would be even stronger if we could negotiate Schalke down a bit on Pappadolous ( believe we are still interested in him )

Rafa had the opportunity to sign Wolfswinkel, he never obliged.

And just to reimind you, we're only 8 days into the transfer window.

All is not lost yet.

That's good for Rafa - does that automatically rule the player out then ?

Twitter rumour dude. Usually pretty sound.

Karl ‏@Karlton81

The failure of the Mkhitaryan transfer is a lot to do with us stalling, we should have wrapped it up ages ago but stalled after speaking to his agents in London. Dunno if we got cold feet, but Raiola refused to let us speak to Mkhitaryan after we messed them about.

Can expect at least 2 more players to come in (I got no names), maybe more if we sell Suarez. But they're not dependent on the sale of Luis. The new boys in training look good, especially Mignolet & Aspas. Alberto looks a little lightweight at the moment, but he has plenty time.

Sterling is another player who's had high praise in pre season training so far, apparently he returned 2 weeks before anyone else did.

Just to clarify, we spoke to Raiola in London NOT Mkhitaryan, we've never held direct talks with him.

Mignolet & Aspas look good - sounds ominously positive.  :D

If the club were serious about Mkhitaryan then hopefully they will have a plan B/alternative.

There is also a few dismissing the twitter fella because he is supposed to be "Anti FSG" and the blame is trying to be shifted onto Ayre etc for the failure to sign the player. Media is Germany just saying he preferred Dortmund once they became interested because of their recent successes and the current situation they are in

Liverpool have turned their attentions to Hellas Verona star Jorginho after apparently failing in their pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Boss Brendan Rodgers is looking at playmaker Jorginho - full name Jorge Luiz Frello Filho - with Liverpool ready to make a £7.5m offer.

The Brazilian-born 21-year-old, who has featured for Italy at U21 level, has also attracted interest from Arsenal and AC Milan after helping Verona win promotion to Serie A last season.

Rodgers has already been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, bringing in Luis Alberto (Sevilla), Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo), Simon Mignolet (Sunderland) and free agent and former Manchester City defender Kolo Toure.

James Pearce from the Echo said: "Papadopoulos defo won't be signed this window"

Haven't seen much of the lad but what I have seen he looks like a red card waiting to happen.

Benteke has handed in a transfer request. Would certainly add something different up front for us.

I wouldn't mind the club looking at someone like Dzageov as an alternative to HM
