How the feck do we know, BR doesn't keep me, KK or Devaney in the loop. I thought you were ITK?

Great answer Reg.

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. Realistically how can anyone on this forum answer your question?

can't imagine any club in the premier league spending £9 million on a keeper to keep a bench warm all season.....would not be surprised if a deal has already been struck for Reina to move on this summer

I also think it is the case - Pepe surely must be on his way out

I think he'll be staying put. I reckon another 2 seasons from Pepe and he'll then move on with our new man taking over the number 1 spot.

So Mignolet to sit on the bench for two seasons whilst he loses his spot for his country ? After we spent £9mil on him ? Bit of a waste of money

It's bad if we're offering Reina out. We'll get nowhere near enough money to cover the purchase of Mignolet if we're trying to sell Reina like this. But either way, I think it would be best if he leaves.

I think our £9m new keeper will play in both cup comps and become an understudy of pepe's for lets say the next season. Then it might switch around for the 2nd season or pepe may leave.

just a guess

That's a lot of money to spend on an understudy - one who will be looking to play week in week out to ensure he keeps his international slot during a World Cup year.

It makes no sense to spend that much money on a gk then not have him play the majority of the matches

i think its fairly obvious that the plan is to bring in a goalkeeper who is a really good young keeper on wages mucj lower than Pepe's.  We will then move Reina out therefore saving 100k a week.

From FSG's point of view Reina has not been in his best form for a couple of seasons yet is one of our highest earners. I reckon we will get about the same that we have paid for Mignolet but save money in wages for a keeper of a similar standard from last years perfomances.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I will be glad when we eventually sign him ,so I never have the need to peruse another Armenian publication .

depends how the club looks at it. Gradual transition might be prefered. Mignolet is still young. As for the 'world cup' prospects... no concern of Liverpool FC. As his employer he'll be contracted to play for LFC. Any hopes and prayers to play for his national side are purely his own look out.

So do you think the club is in a position to spend £9mil on someone to sit on the bench ? Mignolet isn't a young pup - he is an established international who has been playing week in week out in the prem - he hasn't signed to sit on the bench - the club haven't spent £9mil for him to sit on the bench.

The club will look to offload Pepe - he won't want to sit on the bench and the club won't want his wages to sit on the bench !
