Yeah, just been reading that however the comment highlighted in red could mean even we can't buy him:

West Ham have their bid for Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo rejected

West Ham United are exploring other striker options beyond Andy Carroll after it was claimed yesterday that they had bid what would be a club transfer record fee of £14.5 million for Spain forward Alvaro Negredo.

No go: Sevilla don't want to sell Alvaro Negredo after departing with Jesus Navas
04 Jun 2013

Jose Maria del Nido, the Sevilla president, revealed that the offer had been rejected out of hand and was adamant that he was under no financial pressure to sell any of his players.

The announcement comes shortly after Sevilla accepted a £24 million offer from Manchester City for winger Jesus Navas, but Del Nido was keen to stress that he was not prepared to part ways with the club’s second most valuable player. Negredo, 27, scored 31 goals last season for Sevilla and was part of the star-studded Spain squad that triumphed at Euro 2012.

“He has four years left on his contract,” said Del Nido. “He is at home here. He has scored a lot of goals and delighted us with his football. The summer will tell us in due course if he will still be with us, but if you ask my opinion, I’d rather there were no bids. West Ham offered €17 million [£14.5 million] in cash with more in incentives but we do not value the offer and the player refused.”

West Ham would not comment yesterday on Del Nido’s claims but a bid for Negredo would suggest uncertainty about whether Carroll will finally sign on a permanent basis.

A £15 million offer has been accepted by Liverpool and there was an expectation that Carroll would finally agree personal terms on the move this week.

Liverpool are confident Daniel Agger will remain a key part of Brendan Rodgers' defence next season despite claims that the Denmark international is the latest target for Monaco's lavish spending spree.

Reports in France on Tuesday said the Liverpool central defender was close to joining Monaco on a four-year contract as the newly promoted club aim for an instant challenge for French honours and European qualification. Backed by their Russian billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev, Monaco have already added over £100m worth of talent to Claudio Ranieri's squad this summer in Radamel Falcao, João Moutinho, James Rodríguez and Ricardo Carvalho.

Agger and the out-of-favour Manchester United winger Nani are the latest high-profile figures to be linked with the Ligue 1 club but Liverpool have not received an approach for the 28-year-old and would not welcome one. The Dane was a target for Manchester City last summer but ultimately signed a new four-year contract at Anfield in October, and Liverpool have had no indication that his commitment has wavered.

The former Brondby player is the only senior central defender at Liverpool whom Rodgers could confidently include in his plans for next season. Of last season's quartet, Jamie Carragher has retired and the Anfield futures of both Martin Skrtel and Sebastián Coates are in doubt, prompting a search for at least two defensive signings this summer. Schalke's Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Tiago Ilori of Sporting Lisbon head the Liverpool manager's list while Shakhtar Donetsk's goalscoring midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a target and would cost around £22m.

Liverpool have confirmed they will play Celtic in a pre-season friendly at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Saturday, 10 August. The match, kicking off at 5.30pm, adds to a pre-season programme that will take Liverpool to Indonesia, Melbourne, Thailand and Norway, plus Steven Gerrard's testimonial at home to Olympiakos on 3 August.

Reds to add Croatian playmaker Ivan Rakitic as Brendan Rodgers eyes creativity from midfield.

Liverpool are preparing a bid of £12million to land Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla this summer, CaughtOffside can reveal.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to enter the transfer market for a creative midfielder this summer, and was believed to be targeting a return for former Liverpool favourite Xabi Alonso, now at Real Madrid.
However, despite it being thought that Alonso might be sold in a summer clear-out at the Bernabeu this year, he has pledged his future to the club and does not seem to be available.

Sevilla turned the bid down - they would expect a lot more than £15 mil for him - closer to over £20mil i reckon

What's with all the attacking midfielders? Eriksen, Mkhitaryan and now Rakitic? Did the boss forget that we have Coutinho?

If Suarez does end up leaving I hope the first thing Rodgers does is pick up the phone and give his old mate Jose a call to see if he'd be willing to sell us Lukaku.

it`s saying in the echo that we are interested in this mkhitaryan but with an asking price of £22m we`d have to wait for suarez to leave before we can bring him in.
without moving players out we havent got much to spend.

If that is our situation then we will struggle to get the players required to move us forward

I read elsewhere Rodgers had a budget of 35M and was going to bring Mkhitaryan in whether on not Suarez was sold.

Wait and see I suppose.

I think he will have a budget of around £35M - £40M before the sales of any players. On the assumption that Carroll and Suarez will be sold that "could" see Rodgers with as much as £80M - £90M - which will allow Rodgers to completely revamp squad.

Arsenal given £10m transfer boost as Andrei Arshavin, Denilson and Sebastien Squillaci depart Emirates Stadium

Arsenal have further boosted their financial firepower in the transfer window by freeing up around £10 million from their annual wage bill after Andrei Arshavin, Denilson and Sebastien Squillaci finally ran down their contracts and were allowed to leave for nothing.

Misfiring Gunner: Andrei Arshavin cost Arsenal £15m but scored just 31 goals in his five seasons  All three players have contributed little to Arsenal during the past two years but the club were unable to find buyers who would match their salaries and so they eventually just became a major drain on the club’s resources.
++

And therein lies the devil, 3 cr@p players they cant get rid of due to their crazy high salaries and they end up giving them away for nothing! What a drain on your profits!
