the owners had to move heaven and earth to get him here in the first place.
you`d think a move from swansea to liverpool would be a no brainer for a manager but i seem to recall  him distancing himself from that infamous shortlist (the one that dave whelan kept us updated on) and made it pretty clear that he was quite prepared to stay in south wales.
i dont think city (or any club owned by ridiculously wealthy owners) is the sort of place managers tend to hang around for any great length of time and i think rodgers see`s himself more as a shankly/paisley/busby/ferguson/wenger type dynasty builder as opposed to a club hopper like mourinho.
i could be wrong like but my gut feeling is that he`ll stay.

Rodgers would leave us to go to City just like he left Swansea to come to us.

City arent Chelsea - they have just spent a fortune on their academy to build a future and got someone like Bergesten into the club.

But City won't go near Rodgers because he is unproven and untested at the top level. They will be setting their sights higher.

They will look towards managers we should have last summer - Klopp , Laudrup , Pellegrini and possibly Rafa. Proven quality managers with a CV to back it up

Rodgers wouldn't go.

Why not ?

Rodgers is somebody who wants to prove himself.  He hasn't proven himself at Liverpool, and that's why he won't go.  He proved himself at Swansea, getting them to play good football consistently and get promoted to the top flight, then sit comfortably up here.  He has no done anything to prove himself at Liverpool, and until he does or gets the sack, I truly believe he will refuse to go.  He doesn't want people to look back at him as a failed manager in any aspect, so until he proves that he's a successful manager, he won't' be ready to "take the next step"

How much do you think Aston Villa would ask for this Benteke character?

15 goals this season in the league, not bad seeing as he is playing for s**tful side.

Would have him in a hearbeat over Carroll or that headless chook Borini.

Also read somewhere that Barcelona was looking at selling Alexis Sanchez? Wonder how much they would sell him for considering what they paid 2 years ago.

Definately the sort of player we need up front with Coutinho to complement him on the other side.

:Oo:

Chelsea opened their academy at Cobham in 2007, a 140 acre facility with 30 football pitches, six of which are premiership standard, it's almost twice the size of the proposed Man City academy.

I just don't get the impression that he is that type, I believe as a minimum he will see his term out here. He comes across as someone who appreciates our club culture and history, City just don't have that.

I think you have an extra zero on that price!  He's had a half decent season.  I doubt he's worth double figures never mind £30m.

Yea that would be another Andy Carroll incident all over again... He looked good, but really had his own thing going up front, and his second half of the season really cooled off.  Only 4 goals in 15 prem games since boxing day.
