???

I wrote a long comment about the game we played against Chelsea and I realized I had mistaken the thread the day after. So I edited the post. I thought the mods would have deleted it by now.

So the Christian Eriksen rumour is being played down by the more reliable sources. Looks like he has been watched by us but it was always a bit of a long shot with loads of Champions League clubs monitoring him. But nice to see we are aiming high.

Toby Alderweireld and Ashley Williams look like top targets this summer and I’d imagine we’d go back in for Ince.

Hope we get a left back, centre back, number 10 and a left footed Coutinho.

What kind of player is Christian Erikson?

Starting centerback #1 priority. Secondly, an athletic defensive midfielder (Victor Wanyama anyone? Also he can play center back and on top of that he's pretty useful with the ball at his feet). Lastly, cover at left back. I might sound crazy, but I think we need another striker. I don't think Borini is good enough at all to lead the line.

Erikson is an attacking creative midfielder who won't be joining us.

He isn't the type of player we currently need as a priority

Wanyama is , a couple of CB's as well

PERFECT!!   Lets do a straight swop for Mancini.   Ideal manager for the Reds!

If Mancini does leave then it wouldn't surprise me to see either Pellegrini or Jupp Heynckes take the job.

That would be insane. Mancini is the worse manager in the league. No plan, no playing style, just relies on individual effort by Silvas and Agueros.

Anyway, I doubt Brendan would want to leave. Money City might look appealing but Rodgers is smarter than that.

If he did leave we'd get compensation and then we could rehire Rafa, and btw yes I know I was his most vocal critic but hindsight is a fine thing as is admitting when you are wrong.

i cant see brendan leaving tbh, he seems the loyal type.
the owners had to move heaven and earth to get him here in the first place.
you`d think a move from swansea to liverpool would be a no brainer for a manager but i seem to recall  him distancing himself from that infamous shortlist (the one that dave whelan kept us updated on) and made it pretty clear that he was quite prepared to stay in south wales.
i dont think city (or any club owned by ridiculously wealthy owners) is the sort of place managers tend to hang around for any great length of time and i think rodgers see`s himself more as a shankly/paisley/busby/ferguson/wenger type dynasty builder as opposed to a club hopper like mourinho.
i could be wrong like but my gut feeling is that he`ll stay.

Rodgers would leave us to go to City just like he left Swansea to come to us.

City arent Chelsea - they have just spent a fortune on their academy to build a future and got someone like Bergesten into the club.

But City won't go near Rodgers because he is unproven and untested at the top level. They will be setting their sights higher.

They will look towards managers we should have last summer - Klopp , Laudrup , Pellegrini and possibly Rafa. Proven quality managers with a CV to back it up
