Rumour of the day - For the miserable tw@ts amongst you

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Postby Kenny Kan » Tue Apr 02, 2013 3:23 am

As for the Alonso rumour - you can take what I posted as fact because the club have made zero contact with anyone in connection with Alonso and have no intention of making any contact because he wishes to remain at Madrid. And that is from an extremely solid source within the club.

Sorry but I won't be taking your word as fact. Unless you can substantially back up your claim with evidence, there is no fact.

So, it's opinion. And I will ask you politely, please do not post your opinion as fact, thank you.

I see Molby talking about this Christian Eriksen in the Echo and I've read somewhere that the kid is an LFC fan.  I think it'll be a coup if we get him (much like Coutinho) as there'll be a lot of competition.  Exactly the calibre of player we should be after.

I also see Paul Ince quoted as saying Tom is worth 25 mil   Forget about that one then.  25 mil for someone unproven in the top flight?!  I wouldn't go above 5 mil if we resurrect our interest in him.

Have you guys heard the rumor about Real Madrid offering 40 mill plus Xabi in exchange for Suarez? As much as I would love Alonso back, I think Suarez is priceless for us, simply because no matter how much money we get from him, we won't be able to find a replacement that would be good enough. I also believe we can get Xabi without giving them Suarez.

It says that they've offered Xabi a contract, not that he's considering it. I think Alonso will leave Real at the end of the season. Whether or not he'll come to us, that remains to be seen.

Pako on Revista fully expects him to sign a new contract

When a club is talking new contracts then they discussing with the player and his agents - unless you think he is ignoring the club.

Alonso probably has about 4 years left in him... his effectiveness on the pitch won't fall as sharply as Gerrard's whose game is based on power, speed and athleticism. He can be our floor general... but I'm not sure he will come back to us... for what reason? He will take whatever extension he gets from Real, after which, he would go to clubs like LA Galaxy or PSV where they are willing to offer him a better package.

I see we are linked with Micah Richards today.

If this is true id be over the moon. Perfect signing. Only 5'11 but very strong and very pacey for a defender. Can play CB and RB.

Wouldn't be unhappy if we signed him a good player although his injury record may be a cause for concern. Looked a fantastic prospect when he first came on the scene but hasn't kicked on to be the great player many thought he could/would be. I think he's lost his way staying with Man City.  Still only 24, a move to a new club where he'll get a regular start may be exactly what he needs to reach his full potential.

^^ So players don't even get a year to prove themselves? Give it a rest will yer. Richards is a decent player who would improve our squad.

i think richards would be a terrific signing, definately the type of physical presence we need at the back.
for a big lad he can shift too.
i would be surprised if city let him go though.
