I disagree.

If you need an operation for a hamstring injury there must be serious issues. Hamstring injuries are almost never operation candidates, usually time and therapy.

He's a great player but this injury raises warning signs, I would keep well away and let someone else take the risk. I bet Newcastle would snap our hands off to offload a player with this level of injury.

:nod I agree. Time and time again we've seen players suffer hamstring injuries have a long lay off and upon their return they're never quite the same player, Michael Owen was a prime example.

Definitely avoid signing players with hamstring trouble.  Ben Arfa has hardly played this season, too much of a gamble.  It's not just this season either, he's been injury prone over the years.

In terms of the summer I'd like to see us get Christian Eriksen.  We need a top midfielder to take over from Stevie in the longterm and at 21 this guy could be the man to replace him.

Carra needs replaced too though and centre of defence would be my top priority.  Not sure who, but someone who can dominate in the air and with a bit of experience.

In France Ben Arfa has a reputation of being a bit of a loose cannon and having a bad attitude, when you combine that with his recent persistent injury problems, I’d say we should stay clear.

We’ll need one or two centre backs that actually fit the mould better than the ones we have. But I’m not sure on Ashley Williams. Too me he doesn’t stand out as someone playing below his level at Swansea. But if Rodgers wants him then I wouldn’t be up in arms.

Our interest in Christian Eriksen does seem to be genuine and he would fit the system perfectly playing in front of Gerrard and Lucus. Allen, Henderson and Shelvey are not long term solutions. Eriksen is exactly the type of top young talent we need to be bold enough to pursue.

People say we can’t sign good players without Champions League football but we signed exciting young talents like Suarez and Coutinho without it and Spurs signed players like Bale, Modric and Dembele without it. We may not be able to sign the crem de la crem like Falcao but with a decent scouting network we can assemble a genuine Champions League squad.

We can't sign players at the point of peak earnings maybe, but those still on the wy up will sign.

Diame was free from Wigan. If we had signed him things im sure would be diffrent this season. Players that improve this squad do not have to cost bucket loads.

I mean our front 3 is sound wouldnt change that at all.

We need an enforcer in our midfield someone who is willing to play in our midfield and when the opposition comes claim the midfield as his at the moment we do not posses this player.

With talk of Skrtel going and the imminent retiring of Carragher a CB is a must. Some one to stand strong a win 90% of headers.

Ashley williams is a player being mentioned at 6ft im not sure he would win many balls in the air.

De Vrij is another one and at 6ft 2

Both smaller than Skrtel at 6 ft 3

i agree, i`d like to see diame in a red shirt myself, he`s very powerful, skillfull and athletic and our midfield can look a bit lightweight and one paced at times. if you have 2 athletic CM`s like diame and henderson who can get about the park and cover ground quickly you can afford to play a gerrard/coutinho/suso as your 3rd CM or AM.
as you say an ariel presence at the back for next season is an absolute must too and i share your concerns about williams, if anything skrtel is probably better in the air than him.

I'd be interested in seeing how much we could get Samba for. I'm sure QPR will be looking to off-load next season.

Victor Waynama would be a fantastic coup. Defensive Midfielder who can also play as CB 6FT2 and 21 years old.

Not sure how much he would cost but only a year left on his contract

Apparently they'll want £10million for this guy. Although I haven't seen him play, he sounds like exactly the type of player we'll need in midfield. But 10 million seems like too much for this guy. He might have potential and he fits the mould but he's too unproven. It would be risky to spend that kind of money on him.

Edit: Actually I saw him play against Juventus in the CL. Didn't do much.

Please no to Samba. He's on 100k per week at QPR. If they go down, we could probably get him for 1-2m, but we would never be able to offload him with the wages he's on.

Wanyama would be a brilliant signing. We desperately need big, athletic players and he fits the mold.
