Interesting that Thomas Ince bagged a brace tonite vs. Sweden - reckon his value will only go up....
Oh, and Shelvey got one too

Think #1 priority in the summer has to be a good keeper. We've dropped loads of points because of keeper errors by Reina/Jones:

1). Man City's first goal at Anfield when Reina flapped at the cross
2). Arsenal's second goal at Anfield when Cazorla finished at a tight angle near post past Reina
3). Sunderland's first goal at the Stadium of light. Reina came out for a low cross and missed with Fletcher finishing into empty net
4). Everton's first goal at Goodison when Brad Jones punched it weakly out to the edge of the area
5). Aston Villa's first goal at Anfield when Benteke finished near post from outside of the 18. Thought Reina should have saved it.
6). Theo finishing from a tight angle with Pepe just watching it. It wasn't even side netting and should have been saved.
7). Reina f-up against Man City

Perhaps this is unfair because I am not bringing up times that he made a great save to keep us in a game, but to be honest I can't remember him making any top-shelf saves this season to keep us in a game. If we had a better keeper, I think we'd solidly be in the mix for fourth and our inability to hold onto a lead is in a large part due to goal keeping errors. Makes no sense why we didn't go in for Jack Butland in January. Also, we could have really used Brad Freidel as he is a much better keeper than Pepe.

Brad Freidel wasn't very good for us first time round, and i don't see any point in signing him now he's approaching retirement.  What's more, you clearly have a short memory and don't remember the list of dodgy keepers we had in the 1990s and early 2000s.  James, Westerveld, Freidel, Dudek, Kirland...they were all poor.

Agree Jones isn't good enough, but Reina is still one of the best keepers in the league and there's no way we should sell him.

agreed, people forget that after grobbellaar it took us nearly 15 years to find another top class goalie in reina.

Mirror saying that we're going to get rid of 5 first-teamers in the summer; Reina, Skrtel, Enrique, Downing and Henderson. No need to mention that we'll also try to find buyers for Coates and Carroll.

I understand selling Reina and Downing. Could even understand selling Skrtel since Rodgers doesn't like him much. But Enrique, or even worse, Henderson?! The kid has finally started playing well and Brendan will be looking to sell him? No doubt Shelvey and the colossus Joe Allen are in Rodger's future plans though. Also, since we're getting rid of both Skrtel and Coates and with Carra retiring, you'd expect that Brendan will have a suitable replacement for a CB. Congratulations, you guessed it right, it's Ashley f*cking Williams! Surprise surprise, another Swansea player. Another 15 mill for him ought to do it!

These rumors about selling Carroll, Coates, Downing, Reina and Skrtel as well, and replacing him and Carra with Ashley Williams are probably true. But I hope that the same won't happen with Hendo and Enrique and that it's just a bunch of media *****. If it does happen I'd be really disappointed.

I wouldnt read that much into it. I can not see Hendo and Enrique leaving. Hendo is Gerrards Replacement and enrique is our best LB in years

Yea that's probably the biggest load of Sh*t rumor I've seen in here, and there's been some real piles...
Enrique has to be top 3 LB in the prem.  Hendo has been fantastic and is still only 21, clearly one for the future, who's performing now.  Downing has been playing really well, and if we get a bid of maybe 8-10+ then I could see him going, but other than that it's not worth it to sell him unless we get somebody significantly better to take over.  I could see Skrtel I suppose if we buy 2 Cb's, but with Carra retiring and the risk involved in getting a new CB imbedded in, we'd still need Skrtel.

I do expect Reina to leave tho... so I guess I'll give you that one.  If we lose people it will be people who are on the edge, or not performing.  Borini for instance, even maybe Shelvey or Spearing.  Coates, Carroll (obviously) and Assaidi.

Enrique is overrated - top 3 ?! No chance- he has his odd moments going forward but he is poor defending. Johnson is a better left back than him.

Left back and a centre back are two crucial areas we need strengthening this summer

Have to disagree Benny.  Other than Baines, I really can't think of a LB in the prem I'd want more.

Enrique is probably the 4th best LB in the league. Behind Ash.Cole Evra and Baines

However he is younger than all 3

Cole 32
Evra 31
Baines 28
Enrique 27

Its only his second season here and has had a few injuries.
