Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I thought he was very good tonight probably his best performance in a Red shirt. Looked good in behind Suarez (this position should boost his confidence a bit if he can chip in with goals). He has bags of energy and can run all night long, presses well and technically he's very good on the ball. He just needs to keep believing in himself.

You sound like his dad.  If he's so fragile, can we agree to pay him only when he plays well or do we have to pay him 52 weeks of the year?

No time for this sentimental cr@p, its either step up like a man or go play for a second division team where there is less pressure. If you come to LFC then we have high demands - its part of the job.

Well Reginald I have been critical of the lad but it's only fair I praise him when he's done well. Like I said, I believe it's a confidence thing with Henderson, as to me he has the fundamental attributes to be a good player, it's just whether he has the minerals to apply them or not.

i agree with you there because at this moment in time he offers us much more than shelvey. I do think Shelvey will improve and be a good player for us but at the moment he frustrates me with the lack of an end product especially when in goal scoring positions

Not sure about way better but Shelvey is starting to frustrate me a bit. Henderson had a good game against Sunderland but he HAS to start scoring goals, same goals for all the midfield, its far too seldom that they are running into the box, sniffing out goals.

right now, hendo confidence is on a high. needs to keep playing him to keep the momentum rolling.
if rogers drop him the next game then rogers is low on man management skills.

good pass to downing to start daniel's tap in.
good first time volley to start the trashing of norwich.
this boy has a great engine, less temperamental than shelvey, more mobile and physically stronger than allen

for henderson just read lucas when he first came here. he's now being played in his best role and is flourishing.

if he gets dropped for allen against arsenal it's a joke.

I agree
I have said constantly that Henderson needs to grow a pair as there is definitely a good player in there somewhere.
It seems that he is at last sprouting some tiny testicles
Well done

you can't help but have a pop at Rodgers can you? This time he gets it for something he may or may not do.

Chin up son, most of us support Rodgers. Hopefully he'll be here for years to come, much to your annoyance I suppose

agreed, people go on about british players lacking technique and technical skills but hendo has a hell of a lot of natural ability.
look at these 2 clips -

it was always going to take time for him to settle, a £20m move to a big club at 21 is a lot to deal with but as you say now he`s playing in his proper position he`s starting to show what he can do. he`s not just an athlete, he can see a pass and he has a good shot on him too.
even when he was low on confidence i liked seeing him in the side because the only time we seem to press teams high up the pitch is when hendo is in the line up.

Henderson is a great example of what time and patience can produce. He is clearly a confidence player and with this renewed confidence he is shining. Henderson's performances of later have been a two fingered salute at all those doubters who gave him abuse.

Thank god we have a sane manager who isn't as knee-jerk as some of the posters on here.

I criticised him with good reason: he was dogsh'ite. A pure frustrating baby who was in a world of self pity
I knew there was a potentially good player but he was holding himself back due to his own lack of self belief. He seems to have got over that and Im glad we now have had a glimpse of the player he could become
Lets hope a few more hairs are sprouting round his new ollies!
