And yes I agree Gerrard and Allen didn't cover themselves with glory against Swansea either however that was not their normal standard whereas for Hendershiteson, that was him playing out of his skin. I agree. Sadly he seems to be a fraction of what he was.

I agree to.

Hendo:  Has never looked any better than average since signing for us.  Mentality of a school girl.
Gerrard:  Sadly past his best, shouldn't be playing more than once a week and probably shouldn't play CM. Consider benching.
Allen:  Potential to be fantastic but form has dropped alarmingly.
Sahin:  Hasn't done a whole lot since joining but he does have talent.
Shelvey:  Potential to be great, getting in the positions to score but needs to find some confidence.

Not too sure what trio Id pick at the moment to be honest, but Rodgers needs to find a balance in that CM area.
Lets pray Lucas comes back and immediately finds form.

I like Henderson; there is no doubt in my mind that he has the physical attributes and the technical ability to develop into a very good player. However, as much as I want him to do well, I just don't believe he is mentally strong enough to make the most of his potential.

I would keep him as a squad player, to give him time to prove me wrong - he has had some good performances recently and he is still young. However, if we got a decent offer for him I'd hope we would accept it.

I actually think he wasn't as bad as Allen and Gerrard were.

He wasnt that bad on Sunday Vs Swansea and against Spurs Yesterday when he should have scored theres only one problem there CONFIDENCE. He will never get any when he doesnt get games. Before Swansea he had such a low amount of minutes of time in pl this season he was probably confused what he was doing playing in the day time.

One thing I will have to slate Rodgers for is he moans about Squad size but doesnt use it. I mean WHY oh WHY didnt Assaidi start yesterday

Nothing to do with being a whipping boy all to do with being a horrendous waste of money by King Kenny and Comolli, the same goes for Downing and Carroll. All three are bloody awfull footballers, both in attitude and ability.

What Technical ability, I've never seen any. He plays like he's a rank amateur, there is no game intelligence, no clever runs, no clever passes and no clever shots. I just cannot fathom how we paid so much money for this very average footballer who will probably find his level in the championship.

Jordan Henderson has technical ability, he showed that during his time at Sunderland. Henderson's problem is not his footballing ability, he has that, it's his mentality, he's a mentally weak person. The fact is simple, Henderson hasn't adapted to the high expectations and life at Liverpool. He's a small fish in a big pond and he is sticking to the edge of the pond, he hasn't got a safety net, because when he was at Sunderland there was little or no expectations on him, at Liverpool that's different. He was brought in for £16m and was expected to take us to another level and he hasn't done that. Henderson and Downing are not top four footballers, because they are mentally weak. They have the footballing ability, that's evident, but footballing ability minus a good, positive attitude and mental strength is wasted.

really impressed with Hendo at the moment, making great runs, passes and attacking movements.  Should deffo start against Villa to let him grow into the player he should be

Yes, I believe he's done well in the past 2 or 3 games. Hope he keeps it up.

He's just started to chip in with a few things, a goal and an assist.

i think your being very harsh in your assessment of the lad.

Yes he's struggled to adapt to the pressures of playing for us and especially to the stupidly large transfer tag placed on his head! but to say he doesn't make clever runs or clever passes is IMO wrong. He's shown great appetite to get forward and has been part
of most of our positive play in the last few games that I’ve seen. Yes he maybe needing to chip in with a few goals but i don’t think it’s from lack of ability i just think he’s been unlucky with some great defending or quality saves preventing him getting more. A player lacking ability would not have struck such a sweet volley that called for a reaction save in midweek.

i think out of all of the buys so called over rated buys he is the one i think could just prove to be worth it in the end!! Especially as he’s still very young at the same age as Jonjo and IMO if anyone should have more goals to his name with the amount of chances he’s missed.

Hi RBG.   Whipping boy? I don't think so. Realisation that we spent 17 million on a lad who has consistently failed to meet expectations, demonstrate improvement and future potential and failure to assert himself on the field yes. Seriously, what's he worth today 5-7 max?

He seems clueless, springs around the park within a very small defined area the size of a hullahoop, very rarely moves into a goal threatening position and seems to lack the creativity of a Liverpool kwality midfielder - Souness, Terry Mac, Molby or even Craig Johnston. No creativity like Lucas, the ability to dominate the middle of the field like Gerrard, nor the work ethic of a Sammy Lee. Lil' Luis seems superman in comparison. Reira, Dirk, Benny, Jimmy Case. Bring back Smicer! Patrik Berger even... all seemed in better control of their destiny and actively engaged. Hendo sits off seemingly scared to get involved. Compared to any of the above players, Hendo is a wowful indication of where both our transfer policy/scouting has declined and the standard of player in the first team.

If you had to liken him to a past player who would be be? 

I don't see how he fits it, justifies his place nor the fee. Lets be honest, he's an under performer. Fortunately for him, Downing's worse.

i thought he set the tone for our performance tonight with his energy and enthusiasm, when he is played further forward he does a hell of a lot of pressing and his support play is very good too, he is some athlete.
on top of that he is neat and tidy in possession and he can see a pass. that `shelvey` role could be his position going forward.
