Benny, LFC1990's completely right here. Using Champions League success as evidence of the Bundesliga's superiority to the Premiership makes on sense at all mate.

What would you use ? That's the competition where they meet on the pitch.
The state of the relative national football teams ? The state of the youth coming through ?
There is more money in the prem - it costs more to watch it. That's about it. The quality in the players and the football is far superior in the German league and teams currently at this time.

It was only a couple days last night and on Tuesday but it was also the manner of the wins, the style , the players - everything just shows the quality in the German teams is screaming out - and they don't have to pay big bucks for it. IMO if every prem team played their relevant German team by position I think the Germans teams would come out on top in the majority of the games. The prem maybe exciting but that doesn't mean better.

you cant judge the relative strength of league`s over a couple of group games, you`ve got to look at it over a period of time.
english clubs have appeared in 7 of the last 8 finals where as bayern munich are the only german side to appear in a final in all that time, and even then they were beaten on their home ground by chelsea.
i do think english teams are probably as weak as they have been for a decade but i still wouldnt put it past united and chelsea going far in the tournament, when it comes to the crunch knock out games english teams seem to have a habit of getting the job done.
last season chelsea looked terrible in the early stages and when they were mullered by napoli it looked certain that they wouldnt even get out of their group, a few months later the same team beat valencia, barcelona and bayern on their home grounds.
personally i hope all the other english teams do $h1te in the CL but i know they probably wont.
