apparently we were the 5th biggest spenders last season which isnt anything to write home about considering we are one of the top 2 biggest sporting institutions in this country.
even without CL football deloitte had us down as the 8th biggest earners on the planet.
a club of our size, prestige and fanbase should be spending money.
and re possible january signings i`m not keen on signing ba, he`s just average imo.
i`d rather give the likes of ngoo a chance than sign more mid table mediocrity.
once the likes of ba become our transfer targets then it really is a case of how fall the mighty.

How do you measure us being in the top 2 sporting institutions in the country ?

Which money should we be spending ?

name 2 bigger sporting institutions in this country than liverpool fc and manchester united fc.

Depends what you are using to measure ?

Success ? Value ? What is your criteria for measurement is ?

When talking football then we have fallen behind both Chelsea and Arsenal.

What about other sports ? Rugby teams ? Cricket teams ?

So what are you using to justify when you say "sporting insitutes" ??

What are you measuring it against ?

Wigan Warriors for example are massive in Rugby terms .

In football we arent even second - let alone every single sport in the country.

We wont be buying players like Sanchez and the Turan rumour has started since he was pictured wearing Sahins shirt.

if you ask people to name the two biggest clubs in the country most of them will answer liverpool and united.
i havent got a clue why you are mentioning teams from fringe sports like rugby league, seems to me your just being argumentative for the sake of it and backed yourself into a corner where you are defending a ridiculous position.
in your world wigan RL club maybe a bigger sportiting institution than liverpool football club but in mine they are not.
if you think the likes of arsenal and chelsea are bigger clubs than liverpool thats up to you as well, but most people would say they are not, infact the liverpool v united clashes are widely hyped up on the telly as games between the two biggest clubs in the country.
anyway i look forward to your next post where you no doubt explain how the `shitlingthorpe crown green bowling club` are `technically` bigger than LFC.

Once again - what are you using to measure these statements ?

You are talking from a football fans view that its just football that exists only.

Basically it's purely red tinted.

We are behind plenty of football clubs currently.

And lets go back to your first point - what money do you expect to be spent ?

Please state the factors that you are using to measure

If we use Forbes we aren't even in the top 50 in the world

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/unit ... 17331.html

In football we are 4th in this country

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes'_ ... #section_1

This has us 5th

Are you allowed to include national teams? If so then I'd argue that the Rugby Union and cricket teams are bigger but i do agree that Liverpool is still a huge name in sport but we really really do need some strikers and I'd go all out to get Ba, for a reasonable price.

I come here to hear about Falco, Turan, Villa, and Sanchez!

Other wise i will go back to Football manager where the board agreed to sign Pedro!
