dont post a great deal these days but today it's absolutely essential to come on here and salute every single person associated with LFC. This tragedy has lay at the heart of our club and we've fought for justice for so long. To have their lies uncovered is a great achievement. God bless all of you and my heart goes out to all of those affected.

I'm having a pint tonight, in the name of justice

You'll Never Walk Alone
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

JFT 96 - Gone but never forgotten

God Bless You All

Couldn't agree more.  I wasn't alive when this happened, and I'm a newer fan so it hasn't affected me for as long as it has many of you, but I've talked to you guys enough and learned enough about Liverpool, that I've been emotionally pulled into it.  I'm so glad this has finally come out.  It's the start of closure for these families, and for the football club as a whole.

It's good to see that supporters from a lot of clubs who believed the S*n's lies are now apologising for their ignorance and are fully supportive of the justice campaign. I've been onto a Man Utd forum and a Man City forum and the admissions of ignorance and the sheer class shown by a lot of posters on their forums was pleasing to read. The truth is out now and I hope those who were responsible for the disaster and the disgraceful cover up are brought to justice, irrespective of age or condition.

"Editor of The Sun, Dominic Mohan, says tomorrow's edition will reflect the paper's deep sense of shame over the reporting of the Hillsborough disaster"

Anything to try and sell a few papers, they can apologise for the next twenty years and it's meaningless, they'll never understand the deep hurt and pain that their lies inflicted upon the families of those who died and all Liverpool supporters. Sorry isn't enough, there's nothing that disgusting newspaper can say or do that will ever do to right the wrongs of 15th April 1989.

All one can say is sorry. Sorry for how long it took for us to get to this stage and sorry for however much longer it takes for people to be held accountable.

Just spent the last 3 1/2 hours reading every report I could find.

It goes to show the lengths authorities will go to cover up the mistakes they make but im not going to talk about the vileness of the police, the rag etc I will simply talk about the families.

For them to carry on fighting, year after year, to ensure that justice will be done, takes tremendous strength, strength I dont think I could have after all that time. Year after year they have got on with the loss of loved ones and knowing the injustice that had taken place.

And finally, after WAY too long a time, the truth is out and I can only hope justice will be done. The families have suffered for too long, now its time for retribution.

So it's just the FA who remain silent

In the light of the report published by the Hillsborough Independent Panel today, the Premier League has made the following statement:

"The Premier League welcomes the publication of the Independent Panel Report into the tragic events that unfolded at Hillsborough on 15th April 1989 but is saddened that it has taken so long for this information to be made available to the families and friends who lost loved ones.

"The Hillsborough families' campaign has brought this day about and it is through its tireless campaigning, supported by many including Liverpool FC and former Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport Andy Burnham MP, that we now have a fuller understanding of what led to the catastrophe that saw 96 fans die as a result of going to a football match.

"The relationship between fans, the football authorities and government has thankfully moved on radically since those times and the Premier League and English football more widely is committed to continuing to drive standards of ground safety, communication and liaison between supporters and the stakeholders involved in making a matchday as welcoming and safe an environment as possible."

Probably waiting on an approval from Whiskeynose to allow them to comment.  Or they are too wrapped up in solving the Terry thing.

@thisisanfield: Spot the odd one out in this list: South Yorks Police, Sheff Weds FC, Kelvin Mackenzie, The Sun, Premier League, The FA, David Cameron...
