Where was the 12th man

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby VEN0M No 7 » Wed Apr 06, 2005 8:51 am

I cant believe the total contrast in the fans mood last night, the first half was absolutly booming, we lifted the reds to the dizzy heights you could see what difference it made.

The when the mighty men in red emerged for the second half there wasnt a peep.

I dont understand why when the team was obviously knackered they dragged the tempo of the fans down instead of us picking them up when they needed us most.

I think there is a bit of something going on at the moment with the fans and I dont know what it is.

There are great things to come at liverpool - so sing your hearts out and lift us to forth and the champions league final :)

Hi Judge me old mucker, I'll tell you summat mate, I was in tears when the minutes silence started and on the refs whistle to start it all the kop held up them boards. It was a sight to see, I had a huge lump in my throat......
I too had my own minutes silence to remember that night in 1985 & the terrible things that happened.

there was a 40min or so period in the first half when I sat (I know, I know) at home watching the reds demolish Juve. I couldn't speak with the joy and excitement. It was a performance to savour. The football was the best we have ever played for a long time, my thoughts went back to the days of Dalglish, Keegan, Callaghan, T.Smith, Hughes & co.

I thought to myself, "If Paisley is watching down on us tonight he'll be as proud as me"

No other football club in the world can make me feel like this.

I love this club.

I'll shut up now.

As in behind the nets I mean the goals, turn of phrase..

What I am saying is, In the first half the place rocked I couldnt even hear my own singing the noise was terrific.
You could tell it lifted the players

Then during the second half when we was struggling to get the ball, I thought  where the hells is the noise..

I could here every word from the guy behind me talking.

The reds are a team that uses the fans like no other we added to the tempo.. it was great

But yes you are right the atmos was out of this world and yes only liverpool fc is the only club that can make you feel this way.

MilitiaRusher and Venom,  I think there is a simple answer to both of your questions:

Image

This incensed many in the ground, and made the singing all the more powerful in the first half. It also made the "hatred" of the opposition come to the fore, resulting in the booing of the Juve fans.

Leon, werent the boos directed to the Juventus players instead? everytime they touch the ball, the boo starts. Were they booing the Juve fans who failed to show respect prior to the kick off?
