Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Personally, I'd see it as a much more liberating year now with this in tow.

THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE - 96 angels finally. They know.

Never did i think i would hear this coming from someone as high up as the pm

"The families have long believed that some of the authorities attempted to create a completely unjust account of events that sought to blame the fans for what happened.

Mr Speaker, the families were right"

WOW

JT96, maybe not total but its a dam good start.

PM Quote..
There is new evidence which shows that police officers carried out police national computer checks on those who had died in an attempt, and I quote directly from the report, 'to impune the reputations of the deceased'. The coroner took blood-alcohol levels from all the deceased including children, and the panel finds no rationale whatsoever for what it regards as an 'exceptional' decision.

I can think of other places I'd prefer to see him in. Six feet under, failing that a hand propelled two wheeled vehicle spring to mind.

This is only the start, but this is a relief and I hope that Boris Johnson will retract his statement about Liverpool wallowing in 'disproportionate pity' and I hope that David Duckenfield is brought to justice along with all the other criminals who have inflicted 23 years of pure hell and misery on innocent people. I felt sick reading the articles I have read and I felt a great deal of anger that innocent people were victimised by those who should have protected them.

I wonder if that incredibly stupid tw.at Alan Davies is now capable of understanding why Liverpool FC doesn't play football on the 15th April each year.

This is only the start. A lot of wounds will be reopened over the next few months.

Justice is coming now. It can't be stopped. There will be criminal convictions over this.

delighted that the truth has been made in public, hopefully justice will soon follow.

The families of the 96 deserve some closure, they've been fighting for this for the past 23 years.

The following statement has been issued on behalf of Steven Gerrard:

The courage and dignity shown by the Hillsborough families and survivors is an example to all of us.

For 23 years they have fought for truth and justice on behalf of the victims and survivors of this terrible tragedy and all Liverpool supporters.

Victims and survivors suffered not just on April 15, 1989 in Sheffield, but for over two decades afterwards with the shameful slandering of their actions by people who abused their position and power.

Speaking as someone whose family directly suffered, I know the pain and hurt will remain.

However, I hope that today's report helps bring some comfort, now that everyone knows what happened on that day.
