personally i`d try to sign drogba but i doubt rodgers will, he`d look a right hypocrite.
the reason given for carroll being frozen out (before he even got back off holiday) and shipped out on loan was because he didnt suit rodgers philosophy, if rodgers then went out and signed a big target man it would make him look like someone who doesnt know what day it is. he`d look like someone talking absolute $h1te.
thats the problem with managers being so dogmatic and nailing their colours to the mast. the strength and experience of drogba is exactly what we need at the moment (especially with borini, sterling and morgan not having played 60 league games between the 3 of them) but rodgers has backed himself into a corner, okay he didnt know the owners were going to leave him high and dry when he let carroll go to west ham but thats beside the point, he`s nailed his colours to the mast in terms of our playing style.
more`s the pity because with drogba in our side we`d have an outside chance of the title imo.

If BR wants to sign, Drogba, he will sign Drogba. I don't think he needs to care about what anybody else says. Besides, drogba is on another level to Mr Andy Carroll. I don't like Drogba, but to compare drogba to Carroll is laughable. One has no end product, the other was alot of times the difference maker for Chelsea last season...

Both Drogba and Anelka would be an improvement on the little we have in the forward positions. I cant see Drogba wanting to come to us (would probably favor Anzhi or one of the other high paying sides) but Anelka could be a possibility if we pursue him.

And to suggest Drogba won't fit into our system is plain ignorant. He's probably better on the ball than anyone we have bar Suarez and has demonstrated time and again at Chelsea that he can vary his game according to the players around him and the system being deployed. At 34, he's still a top player and definitely the main reason Chelsea turned a potentially disastrous season into a double winning one last time around.

If we wont stump up chicken feed for Dempsey there is no chance either Drogba or Anelka
will be brought and more to the point they prob wont want too either.

That leaves Owen, and he would have to take a very low wage to be given a shot here at
his age and with a poor injury record.

FSG wont spend money and this is a big issue for us.

Got a feeling we may try and sign Owen after the Rodgers comments. TBH despite him leaving to join Madrid and Also signing for UTD. IF he can put the ball in the net then I will be more than happy to have the man back

So shall we wait for Carroll to turn Drogba's age before we see the best of him?  ???  What's your point?

Owen will never come back to Anfield ,he may be a money grabbing little harpy ,but he's not silly ,he knows full well he is despised by the Kop .
I don't think Rodgers is under any illusions either ,if its not Drogba then he will just draft in the youngsters .

Del Piero has gone to Syndney FC.

New name I've seen is David Suazo http://blog.oddslife.com/2012/09/are-fr ... r-rodgers/ but Owen and that seem daft for me. I strongly doubt we will make a move for a free agent. What we have got is what we have got, for better or for worse.
