We have to sign Michael Owen now, we dont even have a choice, we simply cannot last till January with a squad as thin as this

Perhaps Fowler could make a third coming?

That was a strange end to the window no doubt. I think we assumed Dempsey would be coming to us but I can't blame Fulham for not selling him, we insulted both them and Dempsey with a cheeky bid of £4 million. what was that all about?

So we have to work with what we have...   Borini, Suarez, Sterling

Joe Allen is the stand out signing, excellent bit of business.

We filled the blanks apart from a striker and carroll although only on loan, won't be in a red shirt again... I'm sure of that.

Don't be so down hearted lads, we slipped up a bit at the closing minutes and that was that but we'll be OK.

Can you imagine that. Owen, in desperate need of a club and Liverpool in desperate need of a striker. It's like watching the two left over ugly munters at the end of night in a nightclub, hook up and go home together.

Sorry - but we're not that ugly even if we're a little desperate, feck that, have morals man!

It's a shame Owen is a spent force. It's a bigger shame he decided to go and warm the bench at Manure.

I don't feel the betrayal that some here do, as he has already been to two other clubs prior to going there. He also plainly wanted to come back at the time he signed for Manure but Rafa basically snubbed him (or so I read in several sources)

If he was fit, and could remain so it's a bit of a no brainer from my viewpoint. He has scored goals wherever he has played, and we need someone! Come January we could be looking at the end of our season, especially if Suarez gets injured.

Hes all but finished, but would STILL be an option off the bench for us because we are so light up front. Frustration hasnt settled any today btw, the lads better go out and tank Arsenal tomorrow to give us some kind of appeasement

I can't believe anybody in their right mind would even consider taking that little sh#t back. He's not a player anymore, when last did he score with any regularity. Add to that the fact that he shafted lfc when he jumped ship and then converted to the scum. He wouldnt score goals in the championship nevermind the premierleague and its no coincidence nobodys bothered to sign him up. Some of the arguments on here are so idiotic ... michael f#cking owen.

Name 3 strikers whom you would sign, realistically, if you were BR.

Its all over twitter but havnt seen it from a reputable source yet. Drogba I cant see fitting in with the old tiki taka but Anelka is a different proposition entirely.

Phil Thompson‏@Phil_Thompson4

Come on LFC go for Drogba ,free agent

---

Drogba may not fit into "system"

He may be a playacting c*nt

But IF we need goals... He can certainly do that! - I actually hate him, but if it was finishing 6th without him or finishing 4th with him... I know which option I'd take...

I'd go for Droga without a doubt. As for Tika taka, he's way better on the ground than the likes of Carroll etc so i can't see a problem with him fitting in. Only problem is, if as reported we only had £3m or £4m left to offer Dempsey, would the owners sanction Drogba's wages for a year or 2? Particularly for a 34 yr old who's likely to be on a hefty pay packet
