Josemi v finnan - Your choice

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

IF Nunez makes the RM slot his own (who knows?) who do you fancy at RB?

I think Finnan has improved and I'd play him at home since he goes forward better.

Josemi or Finann.....what's your preference?

not too sure, they are both similiar in some ways and not in others - your right about Finnan and his improvement and he does tend to go more forward then josemi but i think josemi is just a little bit quicker and a better tackler. I think we could have the same problem for the left side too which is a good problem to have - if you spoke to me last season and the start of this season who should play at left back out of risle and traore i would have chosen risle all the time, but after watching traore performances of late he has impressed me in his tackling and getting forward but i still think he has alot to learn.
Just think If we get another Centreback (from alot of talk it sounds like we could) we could field 2 different string back  lines - Brilliant

Josemi for the full back slot. Finnan for the utility replacement, bench warmer slot !!

i would say finnan for the home matches and josemi for the away matches but its never that easy to swap players, it is a tough one, but josemi was caught out for pace at bolton and at old trafford on numerous occasions so im not sure if he is faster than finnan, i would give it to finnan but just barely!  traore has been playing well recently he has more confidence now and playing left back is more protected than centre half so if he does mess up theres cover from carra etc, but credit where its due hes doin well of late!

I'd go for Josemi, as I'm not a massive fan of Finnan.

HOWEVER, no one can doubt that Finnan is much improved this year.

An interesting development could be the possible resurrection of the David Cortez deal, the Mallorca right back whom were apparently just missed out on signing prior to deadline day.

I think that had Nunez not been injured, Finnan would be wearing either an Everton, Spurs or Blackburn shirt by now.

good question, my answer is i don't know since now finnan is improving and josemi is still adapting. Yet both are defo unfinished products. Rafa has allowed every player to gain their new equilibrium. Players who looked like to soonly "finish" are now starting to flourish again, e.g. Riise, Finnan, Traore, Biscan, Baros etc.

Rafa the magician! :)

Henchoz, looked composed and steady against Millwall.

i aint sure i thought josemi but finnan is looking good and josemi is tempestous. Its good that we have competition it wasnt like that last year. This is a good thread with no clear answer. It beats the moaning of last year.
