Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Well, I hope he sees out his contract with us. He brings pace, passion, experience and goals to the team. He doesn't have to be available every game to be worth a place in the squad for me.

Why does It seems we're slowly losing all the players that give a fuck about this football club .

Ave heard his wife wants him to move back to Cardiff mate.

Be gutted to let him go, he still has so much to offer.

He was amazing against Uruguay yesterday. Would be sickened to see him leave. One of the few players who deserve being on the higher end of the wage scale for sure. His drive, determination and passion is unmatched.

I agree mate, i know nothing about his physical condition but every time i watch him he is one of the better players on the pitch.

He still has pace as well.

If we are looking at playing a 4-3-3 then him as the right of the 3 is someone that i think would be great.
Maybe not every game if his knee problems are as bad as suggested but like Raoul said as a squad player he is a great option.

Like i said in an earlier post, i have heard his wife wants to move back to Cardiff.

I suspect the issue is not whether we want to keep him but if he wants to play first team football. I have my doubts he can perform week in week out in the Premier League, but squad player yes. I'm just not sure if he wants to be one.

Why do you have your doubts ?
He was brilliant last season.

In the olympics he has been outstanding as well.

I'd also be gutted if Bellamy left.  He was one of our best players last season and his speed and fitness is unbelievable for his age.  He was GB's best player against Uruguay the other night too.

He could play anywhere across the front of our 3 up top, but granted can't be expected to play every game at his age.  He's also one of the few players around who's excellent at changing the game from the bench.

If he wants to go back to Cardiff for family reasons it's a real shame.

I dont see how we can afford to let Bellamy go unless 2 or more wide players are lined up to come in. We've already lost Kuyt and Maxi who have arguably been our best scorers from midfield in the last couple of seasons and losing Bellamy would just make it worse in that department.

Still, some of the more affordable wide players who are obviously good enough to line up for us are joining our main competition (some joining other clubs around the league and Europe) and we dont even seem interested in bringing anyone in. Dempsey from what I've seen of him wouldn't be an improvement on any of Bellamy, Kuyt, or even Maxi when played in a wider role and if our wide options for this season are limited to Cole, Downing and Dempsey?, then that goes to show the level of ambition the club is at.

If we assume our competition for 4th are the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham then we're being murdered by all 3 in the transfer market by the looks of it. Despite the fact that all 3 have lost or will lose major players, they still seem to be making excellent moves in the transfer market.

Chelsea: E.Hazard, Marin, T.Hazard , Oscar, (Hulk)
Arsenal: Podolski, Giroud, (Cazorla), (Sahin), (M'villa)
Tottenham: Vertonghen, Sigurdsson, Adebayor, (Moutinho), (Lloris), (3rd striker pending Modric deal)

I wouldn't like to lose Bellamy at this point, either. He did a good job when called upon last season and based on what we're seeing from him in the Olympics, I don't see why he couldn't carry his good form over into next season. Not only that, but when you consider the state of the squad at present -- the lack of quality out wide, the struggles of some of our less experienced players, amongst other things -- his value to the squad becomes even more apparent. At the same time, I don't think we should kid ourselves into thinking that he's irreplaceable. Like Maxi and Kuyt, he is IMO, definitely replaceable even in our current position, but it would have to be someone of sufficient talent to make it worthwhile -- Ramirez or Johnson perhaps, as opposed to someone like Dempsey (who would still be an improvement on Aquilani, Cole and co.). It's a question of how ambitious we are. There's no point in getting rid of players like Bellamy unless we're prepared to make a real effort to sign better replacements and that' means spending serious money.

I would like to see Ramirez as well, as he's a good young talent, but also because he's Uruguayan. This might seem a little bit superficial and I'm not suggesting that we should go all out and buy players from Uruguay just for the sake of their nationality. But seeing that Maxi and Kuyt have left, 2 players who were very close to Suarez, the latter might be having a tough time on an emotional and mental aspect especially with the way he's being treated by the media and fans. It might help to have someone who can help Suarez out there, along with Coates, to help him when the chips are down. You have to give credit to Suarez for being so strong despite the way he's been treated and if he chooses to leave Liverpool to go abroad, it's hard to bear a grudge against him. Alternatively, there's also another winger from Ajax called Sulejmani. He's done very well last season and could be easily walk into our first team.

You know what Maypax after watching the England v Uruguay match that fact that a player is Uruguayan would make me think twice about signing them.

There seems to be a bit of nastiness in many of them and it doesn't take much to bring it out.
