they are not rumours mate, tonights echo says rodgers doesnt see carroll being suited to the high intensity pressing game that he wants to employ. if the club recieves an acceptable offer he can go.

Does he actually say that - is there confirmed quotes saying that he thinks Carroll isn't suited ?

when the echo prints that you can take it as read. how long have you been watching footy for? you seem to be waiting for exact quotes, this is footy lad, no one hardly ever nails their colours to the mast in footy because situations change so quickly, the players and managers that do tend to be the dicanio`s and the ballotelli`s. you can bet your bottom dollar that rodgers told the echo journalist what the script is.
you are like that fella in the iraq war who was saying everything is sound while a load of tanks pulled up behind him.

So basically there are no quotes of Rodgers saying that and it's just a journo saying it ( i know this because i have read an article on their website )And the Echo are at times just as bad as everyone. If Rodgers told the Echo the score then they would have printed that but they didn't because just like most of the journos they are shooting fish in a barrell.

f**king hell mate you wont get a direct quote from rodgers saying i want carroll gone, footy doesnt work like that.
it`s all innuendo and smoke and mirrors, it has been since the dawn of time.
but when you get this much speculation in the national press surrounding a player plus the echo openly questioning carrolls future (they even use the phrase `lets be clear here`) then in my experience he`s as good as gone.
well he might not go because other clubs may not want him but put it this way you can bet the manager doesnt see him as part of his long term plans.
you dont get all this speculation over crossed wires in a press conference, they speak off the record you know, i`m sure the journo`s would have said to rodgers after the press conference `you know how this is going to comee across dont you`?
rodgers could have clarified the situation quite easily, infact if it was all just a matter of crossed wires and carroll was going nowhere then why are the club letting this speculation continue. i bet you if it was about suarez the club would have released a statement in yesterdays echo rubbishing the reports.

You don't really understand modern media do you.

In last week we have been reported to have signed Sigurdsson - False , Ramirez - False , we should have Borini right now , plus Dempsey has supposed to have signed today.

Just look at all the players reported to be joining , we even had the Echo at one stage saying Suarez possibly on his way to PSG !! - The club didn't realise a statement denying it did they ? It just disappeared ready for the next rumour.

If the club start to deny or confirm every bit of speculation then they wouldn't have any time to actually do the job of football.

benny, a couple of days ago rodgers said `i`ve got to be honest here if an offer for him to go out on loan comes in and it`s beneficial to the club and the player then i have to consider it` (or words to that effect)
do you think that would be his reply to a question about suarez`s future? join the dots lad.

"or words to that effect"

Words that have been manipulated

The transcript of the press conference was on the OS - have a read at the actual words

When Rodgers was talking about having the right mentality to do well at the club he was actually talking about Aquilani yet the press reports made it out that he was talking about Carroll. Now why would they do that do you wonder.

The press have Rodgers phoning clubs begging them to take Carroll - they have West Ham dying to link him back with Nolan . All this because AC Milan's owners son said he liked Carroll and the rumours snowballed and because Rodgers don't go all out and deny it ( even though he did say no clubs have said anything about Carroll ) people like you pick it up and grab it and react to it and the saga continues.

Carroll is the least of our worries at this point with the club due to open
talks with Suarez and Agger.

One thing telling a manager you want to stay verbally but when superior
terms are offered to agents by other clubs then heads are turned and
players get greedy.

For what its worth I am not that fussed what they do with Carroll but if
Suarez and or Agger want away then Rodgers really will have a job on
next season.

so the echo questioning his future at the club and articles all like this are made up out of thin air? - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18778825
i want carroll to stay mate i really do but there`s no way this is a case of crossed wires.
i just hope no one comes in with a decent offer.

thats fair enough, i`m dissappointed to see carroll go and i think he will do some damage in this league in the future but if the manager has a clear plan and carroll physically hasnt got the attributes to be part of it then as i say fair enough.
but at least replace him with someone with a bit of experience and proven ability. being realistic how many 21 year old`s come into the prem and rip up tree`s? especially one that hasnt even played 50 career games. the lad scored 10 goals in italy last season which is quite impressive for someone that inexperienced but it`s not the type of return thats going to fire us into the CL places. he may be a great player in the future but in the short term we seem to be going backwards.
we dont have the air about us of a club determined to reach the top of the game. we have got to chase down some powerful clubs and i`m not convinced we can do it buying £8m players here and £10m players there.

We dont have the money to bring in a proven top class replacement. Or we do have the money, but the owners saw the damage Kenny did and are reluctant to spend big again on no return.

The owners got badly burnt and its clear they are taking a different course with transfers. We went nuts spending huge sums on average british players so its totally understandable that we are spending around 8-10m on unproven players who we hope can be good.

suarez wont leave this season after the backing he got last year, next summer could be different though, especially if we dont make the CL again.

That article is made up of quotes from the press conference and been manipulated.

If you don't think the media makes stuff up or embellishes stuff then you must believe a lot of *****.

Today we heard West Ham saying they have made no contact what so ever with Liverpool yet another reports say West Ham are close to a deal !! It's the media twisting and making stuff up.

Liverpool fans used to just dismiss this ***** until they saw something concrete - until they saw the player arrive or go - they use to just sit and wait and not get sucked in and then use to laugh as once again the media got it all wrong.
