Gutted for Andy today. He deserved to start, probably expected to start, and found himself dumped back onto the bench.

Nice one Kenny.

Agreed! This wasn't Kenny's best day on many counts. Really disappointed by his constant negative tactics and team selection. His press conferences and after match interviews are becoming tedious. He needs to step up his game like most of the team.

Look I haven't been Andy's biggest fan either and I have criticised the likes of Kerry on numerous occasions for their bombastic over the top annihilation of Carroll. However the difference is that I'm prepared to give credit where it is due. He has proved in the last few games that we have not seen the best from him and whilst he may be limited he can make a very positive contribution. Yesterday's first goal against Brighton was as much down to Carroll as anybody else. The Brighton defenders concentrated on taking Andy out which left room for Martin to score. He made a positive contribution throughout the game and was most peoples MOTM including mine.

In the last few game it hash't all been long ball and Stoke style football. Look at his goal if you need further evidence of that!

Gordon Strachan of all people inspired me yesterday when he pointed out that none of out team are playing anywhere near their best. All along I believed that what Carroll needed was a good run in the side. I hope we don't 'rotate' him again any time soon. Not sure Andy needs that kinda thing.

Given that Henderson actually looked worse than usual against Brighton I don't really understand your point. Give Andy a break. If you can't see that he has improved significantly over the last few games then you obviously don't want him to improve. Were you still whinging about the deficiencies of Andy Carroll when he lost Evra and flicked a superb ball to Kuyt who scored and that was the end of Manchester United's FA Cup campaign for this season! No like everybody else you were jumping around with delight !!!

He is a young Geordie trying to find his feet at this great club of ours and it has culminated in him now earning MOTM rewards. So pleased for him and long may it continue

Selective memory it seems.

The sensible ones on here would say that Carroll's performances since the FA Cup 4th round win against Man Utd are a world apart from the performance we saw previously.

At least some on here aren't so far up their own backsides that they can give credit where credit is due, even if they do despise the player. Take note.

Massive improvement in the last 4or 5 games. Seriosly looks like a different player
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Nah... I can be critical with alot less words... :p

But FWIW... I agree with Kerry when it comes to Andy... He has taken far too long to be of any use to the team. He has done far too little in the past 12 months for me to start getting my hopes up for him. We are setting our standards very low if we feel that Andy at his current level is acceptable as our line leading striker...

Let's talk more after he has scored 15 goals this season...

Moving on... :eyebrow
