simple play Suarez with Carroll or Bellamy and have Kuyt as an impact sub.

Dirk will be the obvious victim I think. But he'll still get lots of game time. I'm glad he survived the transfer window.

Yeah but Carroll and Luis didnt gell did they, they're not complementary, Suarez is too jinxy and Carroll is not nimble enough to feed off Suarez.

I think yesterday showed why Andy will be a huge asset for LFC.

The real issue is not his talent. Its about understanding how to play to his strengths: where he recieves the ball, what kind of pass, speed and timing of the pass; the design of his movements- in the box, around the box; and the complementary movements around him, etc

For me, its never been all about Andy himself or the tiresome references to how much he cost.
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

Since day one I was one of those in the For Andy camp. He reminds me of so many other players over the years. He has the ability, but the use of his ability seems entirely dependant on his mood. Much like Anelka, his head drops and suddenly he dosen't look interested. That has a knock on effect and damages his entire game, and as a result, damages the entire teams performance. It's what i've tried to say all along. Definately a sulker. When we involve him and he looks happy, he's a completely different player. Alas that will ALWAYS be the case. Sooner or later we'll be back to the "Andy's sh*t" posts. It's inevitable.

I think what happened yesterday is that our players showed a lot more respect to Andy. For the first time, they were actually playing passes on the ground to him and I think he used the ball intelligently all the time. Another thing that's changed for Andy is that he's becoming fitter, I saw him running around with that little bit more space and intelligence that's allowing him to get to the final ball. And finally, the most important thing is that, he looks confident, he looks hungry to get goals, and his performances are allowing him to now ask questions of his team mates to give him the kind of service he wants.

All in all, this is good stuff for us :)

Noticed (as did the commentators) how often when in/around the box he knocked a ball down but there was no red shirt to take it on. Obviously support for those knock downs needs to be worked on.

I noticed the commentators remarking on this too and they were so right. We would score a lot more goals if we had another attacker in Carrolls shadow to utilise his knock-downs. Maybe now Suarez is back an understanding between the two could develop and we might see that Keegan/Toshak partnership I envisioned when we made the signings.

yeah that was really frustrating, especially in the first half. it was almost as if our midfielders were scraed of getting into the penalty area. the one time adam did we should have had a stonewall penalty.

at newcastle, evertime he knocked the ball down he had nolan anticipating it and getting on the end of it, scoring goals for fun in the process. hopefully the likes of suarez and gerrard can do this for us from now on (if gerrard is utilised in the right position in the right system).

anyway i thought he was excellent. easily his best display since destroying city at anfield last season. he needs a decent run of games now and that's the level he has to try and maintain.

onwards and upwards.
