Surely there is better out there than Defoe? I just don't like him he's a greedy little :censored: but will prob fit in to the team pattern than Carroll.

I like the idea of Defoe, we create the chances, we just need someone to finish them, might as well give Defoe a shot.

We play tonight though so surely anything we're going to do will have to be done sooner rather than later?

It doesnt seem to be as straightforward a deal as we'd like. Its a bit of a 3 way thing with Everton needing to sign Jelavic first then negotiating a Pienaar-Saha swap that would then allow us to sign Defoe from Tottenham.

Seems like a good deal for both Spurs and Everton. Spurs get rid of Pienaar who cant get a game, Everton bring in a striker and a wide player to replace 2 inconsistent players in their books. Spurs get a pile of cash and empty up wage space while bringing in a decent backup forward. I hear Spurs are also in the market for a big signing and this might be their only way of financing it.

Regarding us though, it will be interesting to see how Defoe fits in the side if we do indeed sign him. Cant see us starting him, Suarez and Bellamy in the side at the same time. And where would that leave Carroll ?

A good finisher no doubt but I'd only take him if it was a loan deal or a 10mill or less buy.

I'd rather it was a loan mate, so if it doesn't work out we can just let Spuds keep him  :D

I'd rather we leave any spending until the summer

why do you assume Bellamy will start every game? He hasn't so far and the reason is his knees, Defoe would be a great signing for us.

If Spurs are getting Saha it’s because Pavlyuchenko is leaving, probably on loan.
