Andy Carroll signs for West Ham

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby Zidane » Sun Jan 29, 2012 6:15 am

Thought he was really good we just need him to maintain this level for more than a game at a time.  He has it in him to be good for us but right now the players aren't used to him in the side and our play suffers for it.  Hard to say what the solution is, honestly I think he just needs confidence and it'll come.  The team has shown signs of getting used to him more lately with Bellamy and Kuyt both scoring from his flick ons recently.

He was given a ridiculously difficult job to do in the first half yesterday which made he look a lot worse than he really is. I'm no fan of Andy's style but we bought him and he should be used properly and given some decent service. I know his shortcomings and he has got to work on them. In the second half when Kenny changed things Andy made a serious contribution which ultimately lead to us winning the game.We made heavy weather of beating a very average United team and frankly we owe Andy and Dirk a debt of gratitude. WELL DONE ANDY! Just keep it up.

According to skysports news we've offered a swap for Tevez, some kind of sick joke?

Offered and it was rejected, allegedly anyway. TBH I really want to see him succeed here, but I just don't know if he ever will. He showed promising signs yesterday but overall he has been a dissapointment so far.

everyone wants him to be a success Bav, I don't think there's any doubt about that. Just wavering opinions regarding his abilty and commitment that's all. Some have more patience than others but I admit I have concerns about whether he's ever going to come good. Yesterday was a bloody good start to winning us over tho

i agree. i thought he played really well yesterday considering he was completely isolated again for long periods. other players in our side fell for the old trick of feeling the need to knock it long to it all the time.

he also hit the woodwork again late on as he did against newcastle. with a bit more luck he could have five or so more goals than he has got this season. hopefully he's bang one in against wolves in the week.

killerp wrote:Sorry but for large parts of the FA cup game against Man U we looked like 10 men on the pitch (My hat off to the other lads for making up the slack & and well fought victory) our tall forward was not in the game & even looked lazy in some parts, taking his time jogging around & not applying the pace & urgency expected of a Man U encounter. Almost every ball that went to Carroll he managed to fumble or stumble over & lose possession.

No sympathy for this guy he just is not right for our club....only FA Cup glory would make forget about his mega under achievement for at least a month :p

Marvellous
He cost £35 million you know

interesting...

Sky Bet betting update: After attempting a swap deal, Man City have emerged as 5/1 favourites to sign Andy Carroll from Liverpool.

I'll take him there myself if it's worth more than £15 million
