Daws - don't read it whatever you do!

And to think this is prior to his latest off the field problems!

It's great when Liverpool fans start taking media outlets as they are some godlike knowledge on football - there is a reason why they are journalists and not football managers/coaches/players etc - because they have a first class degree in talking utter :censored:

Give it a rest. You constantly defend Carroll and Downing and they are both proving to be incredibly expensive flops.Downing even more so because of his age and experience.Like Hodgson he simply is not good enough at this level. The article whether you like it or not made a lot of sense.

You criticise the press and yet this was your somewhat crass view of the Downing night club brawl:

YOU SAID:I suggest that it is entirely her own doing?

YOU SAID:She made him cross.

YOU SAID:Naturally, he was bound to hit the first person in front of him......

You know this how Benny. Yes you have drawn your own conclusions and made it ALL up! And you criticise the British press for talking utter sh.ite.......Well done.

You do realise what I said was a joke !!

Downing is 20 games into his Anfield career and he is already a flop ? Well done giving him that long . He has already shown he can perform at the top level so while we are going through a transitional and building period in the club players are going to take time to settle , find form and build confidence up . It's a shame some "fans" can't understand that and demand instant sucess - thank god you weren't around when players like Rush started out and struggled for a season .

No I didn't realise it was a joke which should help you realise how easy it is to take something out of context. Frankly you have no history of trying to be funny so why should I assume you are being anything other than serious?

I have been around for a lot longer than Rushie's years. Try Ron Yeats's first game under Shanks if that helps. Please stop trying to be so condescending and sanctimonious. We all have our opinions and as I have said before I agree with very few of yours.

Comparing a very young, inexperienced and inexpensive Ian Rush with an experienced twenty seven year old England international who has been playing in the Premiership for  several years is so bizarre that it is hardly worthy of a response. And you accuse the press of talking utter sh.ite..................

So that makes you late 60's to early 70's ?

And you slate Liverpool players the way you do ? Very surprising indeed .

Age and expirence counts for nothing when arriving at a new club with different expectations . Also it doesn't help when the club is going through a changing period .

I think there is a video on here showing our missed chances and shots that have hit the bar - two players stick out - Suarez and Downing - both have created numerous chances which players (including themselves) have failed to take - but people don't see that because they just look at the stats .

Once players start taking chances you then see confidence and form start to increase .

Why do you find it surprising that I should criticise players  (slate is a tad strong - that would more describe your behaviour towards Hodgson before a ball had been kicked under his tenure!)? I am actually 60 if that helps. I started quite early! Your a bit of a patronising WUM aren't you Benny?

You have previously suggested that I have been on a daily mission to castigate Carroll which is nonsense and you will find no such evidence if you go back through the Carroll thread. Now you are accusing me of slating Downing which again is way off the truth and lets face it if your comments were indeed airing on the side of levity then it is you that is taking the p.iss out of the lads ability to cross a ball! I have made the point to you previously when you provided the stats of how many of Downings crosses had results in shots hitting the woodwork. The problem which you clearly fail to accept is that he doesn't do it often enough and if he did his stats would be significantly better than one FA Cup goal against a third division team!

If Downing is as good as you claim and that he has proved himself at the highest level then why was there such a lack of enthusiasm when we signed him for nearly £20m. If you think that playing for Aston Villa and England is playing at the highest level then that is just one more of your opinions that I do not agree with. Premiership mid table teams and World Cup failures are not playing at the highest level. If you mean that Downing has competed against teams at the highest level then that is very different.

I have no qualms about slating him or Carroll for that matter they have both being mediocre at best so far this season - simply because both have shown they are capable or far, far greater performances than they have delivered up to this point. I want to see the Andy Carroll that tortured Man City on his debut last year and the Stuart Downing that took Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher to the cleaners at the Riverside stadium a couple of years back, not a target man who struggles to win a header or hold up play and a wide midfielder who looks like hes running in treacle and looks to turn on to his left foot 100% of the time he has a man in front of him. They get criticism because they deserve criticism. When you make a sickening amount of money playing for a club that every supporter would gladly pay to play for you have to accept that there is a certain standard that is expected of you, which by and large both players have failed to meet - so far.

not sure if you heard but it seems he might get let off by the police, there reports on twitter that he hit her after she had been hitting him more than a few times.

he still in the wrong but can not see the police doing much more with the case if it true.
