They say: "Liverpool are preparing an £8m bid for Ranger striker Nikica Jelavic" - Daily Record

I think this Jelavic is a hell of a player.  If this is genuine and we can get him for under 10 mil it's a bargain.

In the SPL maybe.... :censored: league up there though./...

England:

Salomon Kalou - Chelsea
Jose Bosingwa - Chelsea
Didier Drogba - Chelsea
Florent Malouda - Chelsea
Michael Owen - Man Utd
Dimitar Berbatov - Man Utd
Tomas Rosicky - Arsenal
Andrei Arshavin - Arsenal
Gary Cahill - Bolton
Junior Hoilett - Blackburn
Hugo Rodallega - Wigan

Germany:

Jefferson Farfan - Schalke
Rene Adler - Leverkusen
Breno - Bayern München

Spain:

Freddie Kanoute - Sevilla

Italy:

Daniele De Rossi - Roma
Gennaro Gattuso - AC Milan
Mathieu Flamini - AC Milan
Walter Samuel - Inter Milan
Riccardo Montolivo - Fiorentina
Christian Chivu - Inter Milan
Alessandro Del Piero - Juventus

Rosicky would be the type of player I would like, someone in midfield with some pace and flair.
Then again, as a total contradiction, we had that to a degree supposedly with Benayoun and Cole, neither could get a regular starting place though. So it's where they fit in that maybe is the problem.

Cahill will definitely be off soon, not sure we need him though.

I don't particulary rate any of those players maybe de Rossi, don't like huntelaar never did. I'll get slated for this but I like Steven n'zonzi and If it could ever happen Mario Gomez but that's maybe to extreme

I'd take Hoilett for the right price. Under £10m

Well I think most agreed we needed a really good striker this January before Suarez's 8 game ban pending appeal... Regardless I can't imagine they will knock it down much if at all, and I won't be surprised if they just make it longer to make a point.  We really need a talented, proven striker in the January window.

Eagle wrote:Reds to make Huntelaar approach in January

Liverpool will attempt to reunite Luis Suarez with former strike partner Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The two formed a potent partnership in their two seasons together at Ajax, and Damien Comolli, who tried to sign Huntelaar when he was Director of Football at Tottenham, will approach Bundesliga club Schalke with a player plus cash deal involving Dirk Kuyt. Kenny Dalglish is ready to move in the January transfer market in order to find a suitable partner for Suarez but any deal would be dependent on sacrificing one of his existing strike options, with the increasingly peripheral Kuyt being the most likely casualty.

Huntelaar shrugs off Utd link

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United and says he would be prepared to discuss a new contract at Schalke.

The Netherlands international has been in imperious form in the Bundesliga for Schalke this season after being a target for Russian side Rubin Kazan in the summer.

Only last month, Huntelaar was linked with a January transfer to United as part of a swap deal which would see Dimitar Berbatov head to Schalke.

However, the former Ajax ace has shrugged off rumours surrounding his future and is fully focused on impressing for his current club.

"I know nothing of alleged interest from Manchester United," Huntelaar said to Voetbal International.

"I will not even speculate, I am concentrating fully on Schalke.

"I'll let any offers come to me quietly and will then see what happens. This is the attitude I've always had.

"My contract runs until the summer of 2013. If they [Schalke] want to talk, I'll gladly listen."

Huntelaar will be perfect for us... He never should've gone to real and Milan... He should've come to the premier league...
