The Premiership - General Discussion

So the only reason Rushie was good was because we bought him from lowly Chester for 2 pints of lager and a packet of crips and the lad had no expectations to contend with? :;):

I thought Carroll was pretty poor last night, nowhere near the level needed to be a successful Liverpool striker.

Now now Reginald
Different time, different team, different player.
Who knows that if Rush would have had the huge transfer fee hanging over him he would have been able to cope and flourish like he did?
Carrolls price tag is immensly important to some and those people want him to justify that amount of money. They would be better supporting him and trusting that KK knows what hes doing

If people keep focusing on his price tag then the lad is never going to get a chance .

The only person he had to justify himself to is the manager and the manager doesn't care about the price tag .

The price tag was inflated because of the timing and the Torres situation and most normal people can understand that

So why were you moaning about the 2.5m price tag of Brad Jones then?

A lot of stuff you post is pot, kettle and black stuff.

Because that was during a period when we were in debt and needed more players than a back up keeper who has played about one game for us .

Situation and timing were totally different .

With the performances of Bellamy + Maxi lately and hopefully the return of Gerrard, its going to get harder and harder for Andy to get game time.  Kenny has given him chances and he hasn't really impressed.  But now we've got plenty of players pushing for a spot in the starting 11 and its getting difficult to see where Carroll fits in other than as an impact substitute.

yes but kenny did sanction 35 big ones on the lad, he needs Andy to not just come good but actually explode into a £35 million striker. Its quite a predicament.

What he needs, and what we all need, is Carroll and everyone else in the squad to play their part, however significant, in making LFC successful again.

right now, it is really up to Carroll actually,
if he sulk on the bench i think it will signal the end of his lfc career.
if he acts like maxi (benched but rise to the occasion) or joe cole (never hear him complain once),
then he can still fight for his career.
