He looks a decent player to me, although whether or not he can become a good player in the Premiership remains to be seen. Why managers insist on buying midfield players for big fees who don't put a tackle in though does amaze me somewhat. Benitez did it with Aquilani, and now Roy has done it with Mereiles.
Obviously there's a chance that Mereiles will get it in the end, but it's by no means a certainty. Aquilani never did, and while the Portuguese player is obviously better than the Italian, he is hardly uprooting trees like the Dutch bloke at Tottenham so far.








. Players always say stuff like that, it doesnt mean they actually mean any of it. They are not stupid enough to actually say they are here for the money. To get players like that to stay at the club they are payed retarded amounts of cash each week or they would feck off first chance they get. Even then we have players that care much more for their personal glory than winning anything with liverpool.
