I like Meireles...he played well for a new player in a new league and he shows his effort, unlike Maxi.

I didn't think he had a good game yesterday but he was shifted all over the place. Felt sorry for him to be honest.

Why is he being constantly played out of position when the area he is more comfortable in we are struggling - he is a pure cm not an am or a right mid - get him back in the middle alongside either gerrard or Lucas or even spearing and move gerrard higher up .

we shouldnt of bought him in the first place. all the money of the mash sale should of gone on a striker we have enough midfielders to make do plus he bought poulsen defensive and has stevie and joe cole attacking. if nando contuinues in his vain of form we are doomed by christmas.

i aint childish believe me im just stating the facts we knew since april we were desperate for a striker.

Why spend 11 million pounds on an established class CM and then continue to play him out of position where his skills are wasted while two extremely sub standard players play in his preffered role ?! It's not like we are lacking options out wide - Play Meireles in the centre where he belongs - not out wide not supporting Torres but in the middle of the park .

Such an enlightening post. Keep up the good work Rocky, you make yourself look an even bigger idiot each and everytime you bounce your fingers off the keyboard without engaging your brain first. Why doesn't old whskynose deploy Scholes out wide then?.

Onto Meireles. I cannot for the life in me understand what Roy is playing at, sticking a player who is a natural CM, a playmaker for that matter out wide, it is complete madness and a huge waste of the lad as a footballer. The lad has fantastic on the ball ability, a great passing game, excellent movement and the ability to dictate play from the centre, something we don't have apart from Gerrard who wasn't taken over to Holland.

He goes with Lucas & Poulsen ffs. I'm losing faith in Roy and I'm losing faith pretty quickly.

The guy is absolutely brilliant... Brings the ball out from the back better than anyone we have in the side... Hopefully he's played in the middle from now on and we can see what he brings to the table...
Having a fantastic game for Portugal against Denmark so far...
On a side note, his midfield partner for Portugal Moutinho looks really good as well..
