I think Dalglish rates him highly ,and I personally think Sturridge would be a brilliant addition to our strike force .

Have to respectfully disagree mate. If anything we'd have to give Meireles AND a few mil for Sturridge.

I agree ,Sturridge is a very talented up and coming striker ,Meireles has very interesting Tatooes. A Swap would favour Liverpool no doubt.

Can't see it happening.

He's 22, hardley up and coming. Average at best imo. Done ok at Bolton.

He's 31 (which shocked me) and it would be within FSG's business model to sell players like Kuyt.  It wouldn't surprise me.

obviously, I'd be surprised if someone mixed up the ages of Kuyt and Sturridge  :D

Do we need another striker? I think Sturridge could be a great little player for any side, but he isn't going to be get first team football here is he, back up at best, great back up to have yes but will it bring he best out of him? I doubt it

I don't want Meireles to go, he offers us a link between the midfield and strikers, he loves making forward runs and its something that will be really useful throughout the season. Chelsea - do one

Kuijt in dubio over voorstel van Internazionale

22/08/2011 11:53

Internazionale wil zijn selectie versterken met Dirk Kuijt. De Oranje-international wordt echter niet zomaar vrijgegeven door zijn huidige club Liverpool en heeft zelf ook twijfels.

'Dirk staat in dubio.

Link doesnt work. I see CrapTalk are going along with this story. Its hardly a surprise.

22 still young don't you think? In Bolton he was given a real chance to play substential minutes and he did great. Don't forget if he is a real option he would come as a Sub Striker ,so it's a pretty good option.

Kuyt quoted on Dutch TV saying he has an offer and is going to ask Liverpool where his future lies. £15m is he fee I'm led to believe

make of it what you will, I think it'll divide the forum regarding takers and leavers tho. Certainly an interesting offer

EDIT - from the offal

Kenny Dalglish has spoken of his admiration for Dirk Kuyt as the Dutchman closes in on a milestone 50 league goals in a red shirt.

Liverpool's No.18 needs just one strike to make it a half century in the top-flight for the Reds, and the boss insists he is a valued member of his squad.

"Dirk is a fantastic player for this football club," Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"He does work hard for the team, but then sometimes that work ethic disguises the ability he has got as well, so don't forget he has got a fair amount of ability.

"It's fantastic for anyone to get 50 league goals for his club and that will be a great milestone for him when he gets it."

Dirk Kuyt's agent claims Inter Milan have made an offer for the Liverpool forward.

Inter are looking for striking reinforcements with Samuel Eto'o poised to join Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala and Kuyt is on their list of targets.

The Italians have held a long-term interest in the Holland international and they tried to sign Kuyt last summer while former boss Rafa Benitez was still in charge at the San Siro.

Kuyt's representative Rob Jansen admits the 31-year-old needs to think about the offer from Inter.

"Inter Milan have made an attractive offer for Dirk and he has to think about it," Jansen told RTV West. "However, the two clubs have yet to agree a deal."

It is unlikely Liverpool would be willing to sell Kuyt as he enjoyed a strong second half to last season and he was rewarded with a contract extension to keep him at Anfield until 2013.

Kuyt was left out of Liverpool's starting line-up for the opening draw at home to Sunderland, but he returned to the first XI for the weekend win at Arsenal.

So we're looking at getting rid of Kuyt... yeah that's great, it would be a fun thing looking like focking Mancs Shity, with two thirds of our squad being here no longer than 6-7 months, wonder how will that work out. Yeah, lets get rid of Raul too it's not like he did something to deserve his place, let's play Henderson instead, who needs Raul anyway.

Anyway, I'd love to get our hands on Sturidge, he's better than what we have and if he stays at Chelsea he'll probably lose his place in favour of Lukaku, not to mention Drogba, Torres and Anelka who will all star ahead of him. He'll be most likely looking to leave, so why not at least try to go for him. They can forget all about it if they want to swap him with Meireles though.
