Why should we show patience to a player who is worse than two players that cant even get in the side? i dont think thats unreasonable at all.

Thank you for proving my point - no one has paitence anymore .

Aquilani is leaving and Merieles picked up an injury during pre season and Henderson must be afford time to develop and mature and grow into the team .

I think Benny makes a good point. We have some depth now so if it comes down to it Kenny can change things up. Let's let him settle in and find feet.

I think the lad has quality.  He's just finding his feet though.  I actually think that he looks most comfortable linking the defense to the wingers.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

I think he did ok today. I doubt he is ever going to be the type of player that gets people off their seats with a moment of brilliance, he just keeps the ball and goes about his duty quietly. Why is such a fuss made over him passing backwards or to the side ? as long as we keep the ball that's all that matters, we have plenty of other players who can do the rest of it but we need the ball to let them get on with it. He is only young and is also carrying the weight of a large fee around with him. Kenny does not make mistakes :D so I for one am not going to question his team selection or who he decides to buy

Its all about confidence with Henderson. He doesnt look a cocky lad with an inflated ego and you could see moments where he could have run forward with the ball, been more positive, and driven on, but he lacked that self beleif and went for the safe ball. He put it in and took up some good positions but until he starts beleving in himself it may take a little while until we all get used to him and he gets used to us kind of thing. Like Carroll hes work in progress but all fans, including me, get frustrated and its hard being patient.

Clearly in the future he will be a good player.  Look at Wishere... He's a really talented player with a lot of potential.  He wasn't always good, but he worked his way in and got better.

Hendo needs something similar, and I agree with both of you in some ways... I think it's ok for him to start against Sunderland because it's his old club.  When we play lower-level clubs we could start him, or at least ensure that he gets a good 20 minutes on the pitch.

However, I don't think he should start in big games like away to Arsenal when players like Meireles and Aqua are available.

He needs some play time and he needs some starts, but he should also have to work off the bench to gain that starting spot.

People should forget about Aquilani - he is leaving , more than likely to AC Milan .

he was alright today, didnt do much wrong in all fairness but we have much better players in that role.
both aqua and mereiles are much better in that position and hendo got shipped out wide for the latter when he came on so thats prob an indication that he'll be used mostly on the right and thats were he'll be of most use to us.
i wont write him off yet especially as he's only had 2 games.
aqua does look to be off and i hope kk realises how important merieles was for us today.

I trust Kenny on this. If he can afford to blood the newcomers in a game away to Arsenal and we still come away with maximum points then it's clearly a no-brainer. Hendo will come good but it'll take a few more games. As long as we have the likes of Suarez and Meireles on the bench to come on for him then we are laughing.
Everyone has had a pop at us over the last few years for our lack of strength in depth. I think we can all have a laugh at them now.

I thought he did ok today as well.. It is common practice to give new signings a run in the side early doors to help them bed in and integrate with their team mates.

He is solid and no nonsense so far. It is right to get this spot on, getting the simple things right before becoming more expansive.

The lad didn't put a foot wrong today. I really don't know what some people are moaning about. As for Mereiles starting on the bench, I don't have a problem with that - he quite often struggles past 60mins so we're right to be using his guile and energy in the latter stages of the game - as today proved.

Henderson did nothing special against Arsenal but he did not do much wrong either.

I thought so too Igor.  But apparently we are wrong according to the experts.

I thought he was continuously tracking back to offer an outlet for the defense.  He had a large role in our possesion and keeping the hoofing from the back to a minimum.

I said earlier, I think he is very comfortable linking the defense to the attack.  I see his future as being a very controlling deep midfielder.  Dare I say a Gareth Barry type player.
