Id be very disappointed in Kenny if he continues to pick him ahead of players who are not only better than him in every department, but have also earned a starting spot based on performances rather than transfer fee

TBH It's no different to when Rafa stuck with Lucas. And after a while he has come to be a starter amongst the rest of the squad. Henderson has potential and as long as the rest of the team are performing I don't see any problem with Kenny persevering with him.

rest of the team "performing" ?

You're going to have to explain that for me...

We labored for 70 or so minutes against possibly the worst lineup we'll come against this season .. He was mostly poor for the majority of 2 games so far..

1st game: played out wide: poor display (Kuyt is a much better player there and proved as much when he came on)

2nd game: played in a central midfield role: poor display (Meireles comes on and shows that he is much the better player in the position, Gerrard unavailable but again the same applies)

We should also take into account the fact that the only reason we seem to be playing is that we paid 20mill for him and are eager to prove he is worth it... Its putting too much pressure on him especially if he is not ready for the step up yet...

I agree with Ace, I don't think he should be an automatic starter unless he picks it up and show his qualities, for now I would stick with Meireles and Gerrard (when he becomes available)

His pass completion rate was 90%, just sayin.  He wasn't wasteful in possession and rarely gave the ball away.  He was solid.

Suarez is, Adam is and so is Downing and Enrique. We got the win today didn't we? And we deserved it, we had the lions share of the posession ffs mate.

It's early days yet and we have a new look team that is still trying to gel. Give it time is all im saying.

I think that this guy's problem is fitting in and maybe lacks a bit of confidence. I think that Kenny sees the fitting in problem and wants to play him more often so he can get use to the team and start playing the way he should. But I have to disagree with that as we have players that can put in a better performance than him at the moment but are still sitting on the bench, like Meireles. Until Hendo proves that he should start ahead of all the midfielders we have IMO he shouldn't start and we should give the chance to someone who deserves it.

Exactly. People are throwing their toys out of the pram because most of those passes are going sideways or backwards. I think people need to understand that he and other players may come i and play different roles than where they were at their clubs last year. Adam is another one, had a lot more freedom to just spray balls for Blackpool last year but this year is having to work more to track back.

Im sorry but when you spend 100m+ in 6months you are not trying to 'give it time'.. We should be starting our best players no excuses... When he earns his spot he earns it.... No one will be arguing his inclusion then.. For now, its obvious for all (except you it seems) to see that he isnt good enough to start for us...
The fact that other players are carrying him is no argument to support keeping him in the side mate..

Henderson's successful passes were short and sideways and did not create any openings. Stats are important but make sure the stats are the relevant ones for a player playing attacking mid. He failed to get past Arsenal players almost everytime he attempted and in the second half just did those short passes. He almost didn't pressure anyone when we lost the ball. I'm not throwing toys out of the pram but he was awful today and syrely needs to improve.

If this guy is better than Mereirles our Aqulani ill eat my left testicle, what the hell did we sign him for??? that money could have been used on a centre back or a striker which we actually need!

He is a different player to Aquilani and Aquilani is going to leave anyway - I dont think he is better than Merieles BUT the lad has only played two games and is still very young so maybe for the first time we show some paitence towards both the team and new players - it's typical of modern day football and fans the need for instance success and instant results .

Why should we show patience to a player who is worse than two players that cant even get in the side? i dont think thats unreasonable at all.

I can see why we signed him, he doesn't make mistakes and has a good touch.  Once he finds his feet he'll come good.  Fortunately we have the luxury of bringing him along slowly.
