Over the last 6 months we’ve spent over 75 million....and (according to the press) we’re still in the hunt for a left back and central defender. So that figure could break the 100 million mark easily....

Are we over spending? Are the players we’re signing worth the cash we’re paying?

Personally i think we’re are...maybe it’s our new policy of buying home grown or the fact the other clubs know we’re looking to improve, but we’re defiantly spending more than we should. Don’t get me wrong, i think our new players are improving the squad and we’ll be challenging....I just fear the silly season is descending  upon Anfield and we're getting ripped off on a massive level on our transfers

why do we need a central defender? ???? ???

we have kyriagos, carra, skrtle and agger?

money dont mean a thing, we need results.

like a 3-0 humping from sh8TE HULL TODAY

:D

Those CBs just scream midtable to me... ugh
And then I haven't even mentioned LB postion....

Who are you trying to kid mate? Soto is ok on his day but he is essentially making up the numbers. Carra unfortunately is past his best. Agger is a sick note and Skrtel is and always has been a liability. Sorry but championship winning teams need top class defenders. It's no use getting in players like Suarez, Adam ect... if we are gonna leave holes unplugged in our defence.

There haven't been as much transfers as I thought there would be, although there's still a few weeks until the deadline. A player who could definitely improve the CB situation is Samba. I thought he was outstanding for Blackburn last season. As for LB, we have Johnson, Insua and Aurelio. If Kelly is going to be at RB, Johnson could possible be LB for most of the season, injury permitting. The position I'm more concerned about is striker... we need someone better than Ngog. After watching the Copa American Final last night, what's the availablility situation with Forlan?...  :;):

You've answered your own question

We need defenders because we concede three against sh!te Hull...
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Yes, Samba is one who would improve our defense. He is also a threat at set pieces too, we've not had that consistently since Hyppia left. And he is (was?) Blackburn's captain, so another leader on the pitch sounds good too.

our transfer activity so far:

IN
Stewart Downing from Aston Villa
Charlie Adam from Blackpool
Jordan Henderson from Sunderland
Alexander Doni from Roma

OUT
Gerardo Bruna to Blackpool
Thomas Ince to Blackpool
Milan Jovanovic to Anderlecht
Paul Konchesky to Leicester City
Chris Mavinga to Rennes
Dean Bouzanis, Nikola Sarić and Steven Irwin released
Peter Gulacsi to Hull [LOAN]
Stephen Darby to Rochdale [LOAN]
Martin Hansen to Bradford City [LOAN]

not entirely happy with the transfers so far but it is encouraging. firstly, we need a central defender and a left back.

secondly, Degen, El Zhar, Poulsen, Kyrgiakos, Ayala and Pacheco should be released or sold. i reckon they are no better then what we have at reserve or youth level.
